"But you can die because I couldn't protect you?" Brad asked, trying not to start arguing or freaking out. "Please, tell me things like this. My life is valuable to me, but not as valuable as you. Your protection means everything to me, and I can't let you get hurt because of protecting me. Not if I couldn't protect you the first time around." Brad was determined, standing up to his full height. "Let him come. If he doesn't kill me, Jane will try to kill me. If not Jane, someone else. I'm going to get hurt, whether you stay or leave."
"you don't understand Brad " she said standing up to put a hand on his cheek "I love you so much baby but I need to protect you I love you do you love me?"
“Of course I love you. Why would you think I didn’t? You’re not hearing me, I’m trying to tell you I can’t let you do this. This isn’t going to happen. He’s not going to have you. He doesn’t love you, because he hurts you. He just wants your body Caroline.” Brad insisted with a tears starting to form at the corners of his eyes. “This time, if you leave, I’m not going to save myself. There’s no point. So if you leave, you’re not saving me. You’re just hurting me more.”
"I'm trying to keep you from dying he will kill you I don't want to leave you Brad I need you but I need you alive ok?" She said
“Yeah, and you going off is going to kill me more. I’ll know what he’s doing to you. I know he’s going to be hurting you. Everyone knows sweet thing… I really don’t want to have more nightmares about this.” Brad whispered weakly, knowing she was just trying to protect him. But this didn’t seem fair. “If he wants you, he’ll have to take you from me. I’m not letting you go to him.” Brad insisted with her, practically begging her not to leave.
She nodded "ok" she sighed "ok"
"So you're going to stay? Or just wait until we go to sleep, and then leave?" Brad asked softly, taking her hands in his own as he starred in to her soft grey-blue eyes. His dark eyes traced over her dark hair to her pale-ish face. The way she looked compared to him, was very contrasting. With his dark eyes and dark skin, and her natural blonde hair, and light colored skin. They were exact opposites.
"I'll stay…I want to stay. . .do you want me to stay?" She asked
"Of course I do. Would I have argued my stance if I didn't want you to?" Brad asked, snapping out of his thoughts. "I love you. I don't want to lose you, and I'd rather risk my life then let you get caught up in something like that."
She wrapped her hand around the back of his neck hugging him close
"I promise I'll be alright. I can handle him for us both." Brad whispered, burying his face in to her shoulder. "I love you, and always have. I'm sure we'll both be okay. Arrow can't hurt us, I promise he won't."
Caroline nuzzled her head in his neck " I love you I love you I love you. . .' she repeated over and over again
"I know you do… and I love you." Brad whispered weakly, scooping her up so he could hold her close. "There's no one I love more… I promise you." He insisted, lifting his head up to peck her cheek.
she let her tears fall on his skin as she sniffled .
"What's wrong, baby?" Brad asked softly, sitting down on the couch with her straddling his lap. "Why are you crying? Is everything alright?" He insisted, running his fingers through her darker hair.
She shook her head " I'm scared brad he's gonna get.me"
"Baby doll, you're not going to get hurt. Why do you think I wouldn't let you go, hmm?" Brad pointed out as he continued to pet her softly. "He won't touch you, nor will he ever look at you the wrong way again. I promise you I won't let that happen."
"he'll find me Brad" she said
"But not alone." Brad continued to insist, softly kissing her a few times. "I'll be with you, I promise I will. I won't let you get hurt." With that said, he leaned back holding her close. "He won't touch you. He won't look at you. He won't hurt you."
"What about you?" She asked
"I'll be alright. Don't worry princess, everything will work out." Brad told her weakly, trying not to let any worry show through. He never promised that he wouldn't get vitally hurt, because the chance was still there. But he didn't want to worry.
She nodded still not sure but.not wanting to discuss it any longer
(I’m running low on inspiration…. any suggestions what I should lead this conversation in to?)
(I've really got no inspiration… but I'll try to get something.)
