"I…I can't though. After what happened with Jane, they… they won't talk to me. Much less listen. They hate me right now, and want me out. Out of their life, and out of their gang. What am I suppose to do?" Brad asked softly, gritting his teeth.
"it means you need to man up and show him who's boss or do you need me to do it for you" she said
"C-Caroline…" He said hurt, pushing himself back up into a sitting position. He was already feeling hurt, with Caroline's extra sting of words, he felt a million times worse.
She got off the couch "you said you don't commit to anything Brad" she said. She wasn't hurt about him quitting the gang she was hurt because of his words
"I… didn't say that. You didn't hear me right babe." Brad whispered standing up to pull her back. "I said I didn't commit to that. I was too chicken to do so. I knew the consequences could be bad, so I avoided it." He told her, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Besides my gang, I commit to everything best I can."
She sniffled "well I did commit to my gang Bradyou're the leader of the gang you can strip your gang of their jackets and their tattoos and it doesn't matter I'm in a gang myself Brad I'm going to get hurt I wish you didn't treat me like a two-year-old child I'm your girlfriend not your little girl"she sighed "I'll be back later"
"Caroline!" He said shocked, still hurt by her words. Though he forced himself not to show vulnerability. "I love you, I care for you, I'm worried about you. And you're worried about me. You treat me just the same. Why is me treating you as if I care, bothering you?" He asked her trying to not lose his patients. "But fine, if you want to leave. Go. You're clearly mad at me, as I always make mistakes." He muttered, getting up and walking down the hall. Once out of view of Caroline, he let burning tears run down his face.
She sighed sadly and walked down the hall to Brad and wrapped her arms around him
"I thought you said you had to go." He whispered, swallowing the lump in his throat. "I thought you were mad at me."
She kissed his cheek "I was but I still love you"
"So are you still mad at me? I wasn't trying to ask you to pity me." He whispered to her, taking a hold of her hand in his own.
"no just I love you okay" she said
Nodding gently, he wiped the hot tears away to turn and face her. "I promised you, I'll always love you." He whispered, pressing his lips to her forehead.
"And I still mean it." Brad whispered, pulling back from her soft lips. "I shouldn't have walked off like that."
She sighed and looked up at him
"I shouldn't have done a lot of things. I'm honestly an idiot." He muttered, rubbing his face in his hands.
She pulled his hands away from his face to hold them
"I… I hate asking this, but I need the reassurance…" He whispered, looking up into her eyes. "Why do you love me? I make the same mistakes, all the time."
"Brad you are my entire world my everything and no matter how messed up my family is how messed up I am you choose to love me why?"
"Because you're the only one that would actually love me." Brad admitted, pulling one hand back to cup her cheek with. "You choose to love me, when I make the stupid mistakes."
A tear rolled down her cheek at his words
"D-did I upset you?" He asked weakly, pulling back from her worried. "Please don't be, I'm sorry…"
She shook her head " no" she sniffled
"W-what's wrong? Are… are you alright?" Brad asked her weakly, glancing her up and down.
