Mr. Hoax watched the two carefully, seemingly unsure about the two. Mrs. Hoax gave him a look before turning back to the two. "So this is the wonderful girl we've heard so much about?" She asked, a warm smile on her lips. Brad looked to his mom, smiling brighter. "Yup!"
Caroline smiled glancing at her boyfriend
"She's spectacular, Caroline, my parents. Becca and Henry Hoax." He chirped, slipping his hand into hers'. "Mom, dad, this is Caroline."
Caroline smiled " it's very nice to meet you" she said
"The pleasure is all ours." Mrs. Hoax smiled, reaching out to take her hand. "Right honey?" And all she got in response was a glare.
Caroline took a deep silent breath to try and control her rapid heartbeat
Brad gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "How long have you two been going together?" He asked, seeming to be looking for something.
"that's a that's a complicated question" she said
"I'd say about a month or so, overall." Brad hummed, trying to drown out her answer some. But his dad ignored him. "Complicated? How so?"
" I don't think that's really important" Caroline said she wasn't trying to be rude she really wasn't she was just trying to keep yourself from having a panic attack
"I'd just like to know how long my son has been involved with you. That's all." Henry said, his gaze narrowing on her. He didn't believe her, and that was quite obvious.
"we started dating at the beginning of the year we broke up we got back together we broke up again and now we're back together again" she said
Brad cringed at her blunt honesty, knowing his father wasn't going to like that. "I'm sorry… what?" Henry asked, mirroring the look of disbelief on his wife's face.
She closed her eyes her hands started shaking terribly so she put them under her legs but that just made her legs shake
"Brad, I don't believe that's how we raised you. You know what we told you." His father said sternly, standing up at his full height. He towered above all three sitting on the couch. "Henry, please sit back down."
Caroline started quietly hyperventilating the room was spinning she couldn't see
"Dad! I do know! But Caroline really is the girl, I know she is!" He told him, his voice raising just slightly. Brad had let go of Caroline, and stood. He was only an inch or two shy of his father's height, so the two stood face to face angrily.
Caroline watched the two a little afraid
"I don't want to see you with her, ever. That's not how a relationship is suppose to work." He spoke sharply, and clearly. There was no doubting his authority. Unless you were Brad Hoax, the most stubborn teenage male there was. "I'm going to graduate from school dad! I'm almost 19! I'm legally an adult as we speak, and I'm moving out as soon as school finishes!"
Caroline quickly grab the three bottles of pills that were on the table and she rushed to the kitchen and got herself a glass of water she got a pill from each bottle and quickly took them
Taylor had stayed back from the scene, and watched Caroline carefully. "Hey, what's going on in there? Are you OK?" He asked, walking up to her and taking her hand.
Caroline's heard making a noise she had never made before it was a mix between her gasping for air and a puppy that just got kicked
Taylor noticed, and immediately pulled her into a hug. "Hey, shhh are they yelling in there?" He asked softly, rubbing her shoulder. And at that, a thud was heard from the living room.
Carol and quickly ran into the living room where everybody else was to see what happened
Brad was on the floor, glaring up his father holding his mouth with his hand. Emmy had tears running down her face, and she seemed terrified. Mrs. Hoax was just as horrified as her daughter. Everyone seemed practically frozen, as the room was silent.
