forum What is the equivalent of social security in your world?

Nothing actually. (Social security is going broke in the US, it's kinda a failure…) The most advanced government I have doesn't really care about the retirement of its elderly citizens; that, and it's kind of based on the days before social security was really invented. What about you?

I actually don't have one. In my world, they never really tried it so there isn't one. Same goes for food stamps. Everyone has a job so nobody goes hungry…often.

In my world, the social security system is "Kill the dude that gives you trouble"

@Masterkey yeah, it's kind of funny, but kind of sickening at the same time. Whats worse is that there is a Police Force but they only deal with major situations and killing/homoside is usually not on the list.

One of the races in my story uses a socialist system, so it's like social security on steriods. Everyone pays theirs dues to the system (if they are able), and everyone gets guaranteed food, shelter, and education.

in one of my books they don't have much of a system, they abort fetuses that have any defects or diseases so no disability problems and people work until the day they die, if you can't work when your 90 your dead, so a social security system is useless to them
