I like it very much. Word of warning. Try to stay away from fantasy cliches. But really cool stuff.

I like it a lot. it would be interesting to see more on the four brothers they killed the king– they weren't just power hungry no, they needed more land for there hungry people or needed more power to fight the monster the crystals created. maybe two of the brother saw horrid hallucination and never realized it was them who killed there father.
I LOVE the shared idea. it would be cool to see the soldiers searching for them but also like, a little girl who finds it in the river and thinks its part of a wishing star. hell, maybe she makes a wish to be able to fight so that her older brother doesn't have to, or against the soldiers that barge into homes and do unspeakable things or maybe… ya know and the stone sort of grants her wish and now her and use fire magic or some shit. this story go very far– like the other person said its really easy to fall into cliches but like as long as your characters are super well developed i think you can get away with just about anything
