"Yeah, they're real. I saw him use them once." Mai said, sitting down.
"Yeah, they're real. I saw him use them once." Mai said, sitting down.
"should we be worried?" Bjorn pulled out a notebook and a small stick with its end burned to charcoal.
"Probably." She pulled a folded paper out of her bag, unfolded it, and looked at the picture of her family. "I would definitely be worried."
Bjorn made a few notes and looked up. "In that case," He put the notebook away. "We should be ready to fight."
"Yep." Mai glanced at Bjorn. "I could stay up and keep watch."
"If you want to." Bjorn lied down. "Wake me up in about an hour."
"Got it." She said, folding her picture, and sticking it bag in her bag. She stood up and leaned against a tree, holding her daggers.
(Hey! McShizzle! You still here?)
(Oh I'm so sorry! I never saw that you replied to this!)
Bjorn lay down, and after a few long minutes, was promptly asleep and snoring quietly.
meanwhile, the howling was getting more frequent, and sounded closer… (sry, I couldn't think of anything)
(It's fine.)
Mai slipped her daggers into their sheathes on the sides of her legs, grabbed her bow, and knocked an arrow. She turned until the point of the arrow was pointed in the direction of the howling. Then, she heard branches snapping, and low growling. "Bjorn." She whispered, "Get up, now, but no sudden movements."
"Can do." His eyes snapped open, and he very slowly raised himself off the ground
She stepped slowly closer to the trees, focusing on the sounds she could hear from within.
As Bjorn stood up, he noticed something odd. "Mai!" he whispered. "I've got an idea."
"What's is it?" Mai whispered back.
(*What)
(sorry I havn't been on in a while)
Bjorn stood up straight. "Just trust me." He whispered.
Within the blink of an eye, Bjorn had his axe raised above his head as he charged towards the sound, yelling at the top of his lungs.
He crashed through the bushes and swung his axe, slamming into and knocking over several large heavy objects, most of which yelped loudly upon impact.
"Just as I thought." Bjorn stood over several men, all unconscious or groaning. "If you want to scare me off, maybe don't leave your lanterns lit."
Mai jumped, startled by Bjorn's sudden attack, and nearly shooting an arrow into his rear. She walked over and looked down at the unconscious men. "Seriously? These guys were making that noise?" She asked, agitated and slightly embarrassed that she hadn't noticed the lanterns.
(By the way, her shirt is midriff, and shows her stomach.)
(Good to know. I kind of just imagine Bjorn looking like your typical Viking dudebro, minus the helmet.)
"Hey look at this!" Bjorn picked up a decorated ox horn and put it to his lips.
As he blew, the horn made the same noise the two had heard moments ago.
"Well, I'm keeping this." Bjorn smiled as he dropped the horn into his bag. "And I'm keeping the pipe that some fool lit, and I mistook for a lantern."
(Nice. For some reason I'm imagining Stoic from How To Train Your Dragon without his helmet…is that weird?)
"Great. Can I loot 'em?" Mai asked, already kneeling down next to the man nearest to her. She noticed five small pouches on the man's belt. She unclipped them, noting their heaviness, and opened them to find each one was filled with gold. "Nice!"
(By the way, the daggers are enchanted so that after you throw one and pull your hand back, another one appears.)
(Yeah I'm pretty sure Stoic is right)
"I'd encourage looting." Bjorn muttered as he sorted through the equipment of the intruders
Mai smiled, and continued grabbing weapons and money. "What about their armor and stuff?" She asked, smirking at the idea of leaving the men alone in the woods, without clothes, weapons, or money.
"As grand as that would be," Bjorn inspected one man's armor. "It would just be more stuff to carry, and neither of us will ever use it."
"I thought we could sell it," Mai commented, stuffing more pouches into her bag.
