What exactly is it? I'm confused

It's a site where you can look at coins from all around the world during different time periods and stuff.

It's the coin collection in the Münzkabinett of Berlin, one of largest coin collections in the world.
Fun fact: The reason it came up at work is because it won the 2018 Digital Humanities Award for visualisation - basically, in a museum you don't really have much interaction with the coins since they're behind glass and stuff. So this is a fun alternative where, even if you don't see the physical object, it's still fun to play around with and learn about it
