Gotcha! So one of my characters is an asshole and kinda made a joke that I like. And this is it.

Stop what you’re writing and put your characters in a random situation completely unrelated to the story and think about what they would do. Then go back to writing. That’s what I do.

i'm writing a short story to get myself out of a hole so i can go back to my bigger stories, so kinda similar, i guess
