Current vibe is wondering how I was ever happy with long hair
That is a mood. Still waiting to be able to cut my hair. My best friend is doing it for me.
Me: cuts hair, doesn’t like being called anything super feminine, refused to wear makeup for most of my life
My parents: “ah yes, our lovely daughter”
Me: n o
That’s relatable. Except I don’t want to be called either son nor daughter…
I've been dropping small hints by not using any gendered terms when I can get away with it, for me and them
I love my medium length hair, mini ponytail for life, but I want to get a different cut
just
shave the sides off, and have a long floppy cut in the middle top that I could potentially part down the middle to do a bob cut or tie it back like a man or swept to one side like a boss
I take all gendered terms. Just not familial terms. That’s just ew to me. I don’t like being labeled as firmly one thing and one thing only. My gender is a fluctuation, Iwish people who treat it as such. But NO! “PICK SOMETHING, DANI!”
Okay, so I ID as cis female, but I really really hate being referred to as terms like "ms.", "ma'am," etc. It just feels bad and wrong. Is that like a normal thing?
Honestly that’s fair. People experience gender differently and that’s okay.
Honestly, I’m not surprised. A lot of my cis female friends/acquaintances hate being called those terms. I felt the same, but it might just be me being queer.
Yeah, I figured as much lol. It might be a queer thing? Like I'm a cis woman, but I sometimes dress more masculine or neutral, and I have a pretty loose relationship with my femininity. Like I'm just vibing.
I think "ms/mr/mrs" hits me the wrong way the most, and I can't explain why. And I don't like the gender neutral "mx" either. I'd rather be addressed by my first name tbh. Don't really care that it's supposed to show formality or respect.
I'm also a cis female but I've never minded being called other pronouns. I don't like ma'am or miss either cuz it's just too formal for my taste.
I like being called Mx and Doctor, but I don't have a phd so no Doctor for me
Off-topic - I want to work at Discord.
I used to dislike Mx., since I thought it sounded silly being my only option for a title. Then I was still coming to terms with being non binary, and stepping out of the binary was awkward. Now I love it. I like that when I use Mx. people can tell it's purposely not binary. Suits me :)
Personally, instead of Mx., I usually use m'theydy for the nonbinary folks
So my dad has started misgendering me again… yayyyyy sarcasm
Oh yeah, I love gentlethem and m'theydy, but for like formal stuff Mx. is what I can put on papers lol
Sooooooooooo
