Not My Job: A Discworld fanfiction
"This is not my job. This is the exact opposite of my jo-ARGH!" Death was pulled forward by his granddaughter, Susan.
"I don't give a bloody damn. I'm literally giving birth right now!" Susan shouted, gritting her teeth in pain. Lobsang shrank towards the corners of the room. "Shall I call for a midwife?" he asked meekly.
"Don't you dare! Lobsang, I'm warning you! Don't you dare! Lobsang!" she shouted, but her sort-of-husband-well-not-exactly-I-don't-like-to-talk-about-it, the very personification of Time itself, the man who had made her be in such pain in the first place, was gone. Susan gripped her grandfather's skeleton hand in what could be very accurately described as a "Bone Crushing Grip". She breathed heavily, in and out, sobbing in pain. Lobsang had come back with a portly looking witch with a friendly face. "Thank you for coming, Gytha, I know it was quite sudden but-" Lobsang was cut off by Susan's screams of bloody murder, probably his own murder.
"I suppose you'd like to leave the room?" Gytha asked Death.
"Yes. Yes, I will go to the hallway." He said, seizing the chance to leave. Humans were so complex, they never failed to surprise him. A few hours later, the sound of two babies crying in unison filled the room.
"I hate you." Susan smiled at Lobsang.
"Fair enough. Aren't our children beautiful?" he asked.
Even with a long and tiresome night, you can have the perfect moment.
My fanfic was terrible, but I wanted to post it lol.
Nice!
It was not terrible!

(Okay this isn't a short story per say……Idk what to call it.)
We Are Real |
We are real. We watch over you while you sleep. We protect you from the demons who try to attack you every day. We watched you take your first steps, watched as your parents cheered proudly. We watched as you scraped your knee falling off your bike when you were six. We cried with you when your grandfather died. We held you in our arms when you went through surgery after surgery. We comforted you all those later nights when your panic attacks got the best of you, leaving you shaking and sobbing violently on your bed. We smiled proudly when you encouraged other people and reminded them that they weren't alone. We cried with you as you kept asking God why he would take your grandfather from you. We smiled when you understood that he was in a better place. We loved it when you took out your Bible and read, shutting the world out and using God's truth as your lifeline, the thing holding you up when you fell. We're here. Every step of the way. You can't see us. You can't feel us. But as long as you believe, we ARE real. We are here. Just believe. Just keep fighting.
(And it's not long…..but…..yeah…..I'm in a storm right now and so i wrote that…)

Aquarius - Prologue |
Alfeus grabbed his tiny daughter from her crib, shielding her protectively with one arm and his wife Lillian with the other, his wings acting like an umbrella over their heads. Then they ran quickly to the throne room, dodging the falling debris and rubble on the ground to where Alfeus' chief advisor, Jaxon, was waiting. Alfeus and Lillian had tears in their eyes.
"Keep our daughter safe." Lillian commanded him, knowing that she and Alfeus would never see her again. The doors of the throne were banged upon.
"Go!" Alfeus shouted. "Go to the human world and protect my daughter. This is my dying wish."
Jaxon nodded. "Yes your Highnesses." He took the small, fragile child and he waked into the portal's light, disappearing. Lillian clung to Alfeus, both their wings to broken for them to escape.
"Our daughter will return." She whispered. Then the doors were blasted open, burying the king and queen under rubble.
Jaxon looked at the tiny baby in his arms as soon as they had appeared in the human world, in an apartment in New York that had been prepared for their escape.
"This little one shall never know of her heritage." He said with a broken voice, putting an intricate golden choker with a blue sapphire on it on her neck. It was identical save the jewel's color to the one he was wearing, hiding her wings and tattoos, and leaving her once blue hair and brown hair with blue streaks in it.
"I will protect her from her past. She will never know the pain of losing her parents and kingdom." He smiled at the sleeping princess. "My little Kimberly."
It’s gorgeous
