I thought it'd quite useful if you can share your research wth other people as they might be writing about the same topics.

Rapid blood loss would make people dizzy, gradual blood loss make people tired, short fo breath and pale

Sliced grapes light on fire if you microwave them.

Why am I tempted to try this

You're not the only one :D

I’m more like Jin’s cooking skills, except for I’m scared of gas stoves

Don’t microwave grapes… it’s just a bad idea. Go watch a video on it instead of trying to burn your house down. It’s actually pretty cool, just you shouldn’t try it at home. And for the love of all that is good and holy, if you do it anyway, at least cut open the grape first.

@HighPockets group

No, I was looking for creative arson things for writing (not something to google lol) and I remembered I saw some in a Nat Geo Weird But True (GREAT resources for writing, full of obscure facts ranging from random to food to the middle ages to criminals) and decided instead of risking arrest by having that found on my computer, I'd reread some WBT books (there's 10 regular ones, and some special editions. HIGHLY RECOMMEND)

@Becfromthedead group

Oh cool. Not what I was expecting at all. I only knew about the grape thing because my 8th grade science teacher often didn’t teach and just put up videos. So we were just watching a guy microwave grapes in his house and it was both awesome and terrifying. But yeah, you can find some really cool facts in those sorts of books if you have the patience to look through them. Sadly, most of my research involves googling how to kill/almost but not quite kill characters, so I hope “I’m a writer” is a good enough excuse for my search history.

@HighPockets group

Well, the book "Everything You Need To Know About The Mafia" is currently checked out under my library card for research purposes, and I think my family might be a bit worried…jk. Also I'm part Italian and rumor has it I had relatives in the mafia, so there's that.

@HighPockets group

Also, check out this Tumblr page called something along the lines of 'research help for writers'. It's been inactive for a while, but has everything from powerpoints on torture and bloodloss to writing diverse characters to fashion from the early 20th century.

@Becfromthedead group

Pretty sure spontaneous murder is more likely than joining the Mafia, so I don't think they have anything to worry about.
Meanwhile, I shamelessly look up how long it takes to bleed out if the femoral artery is severed. (And if you were wondering, typically unconsciousness happens at 1-2 minutes, and death around 4 or 5.)

@HighPockets group

The thing with first aid books is that for serious injuries it just says "treat for shock and call an ambulance" and I'm like, "buddy, I need to know how much blunt force can tear off someone's leg without having the cops hunt me down." And the first aid book also doesn't say much about gunshot wounds, which is a majority of injuries in my story.

@Becfromthedead group

Yes, that's when you have to find other sources and visit sketchy websites. But also, I have a good deal of gunshot wounds in my story, and I have to figure out how to place them without killing my poor characters.

A buckyball is a molecule called buckminsterfullerene, which is shaped like a truncated icosahedron, which is the shape of a soccer ball
(Yes I searched this up because of my book!)
