Why do so many fiction stories (from video games to books to movies) feel the need to put the sake of the planet at risk? doesnt it just kill the tension? Sure OH MAN IF WE DONT STOP THE EVIL BAD VILLAIN THE WORLD WILL GET DESTROYED AND EVERYONE WILL DIE We as the audience know you arent going to destroy the world its not gonna happen. Just saying
Some of my favorite youtubers actually made a video on this yesterday. Overly Sarcastic Productions, to be exact. They make a really interesting point. Also, the viewers know how it ends, but they don't know what it'll take to reach that end. We all knew that Harry would defeat Voldemort, but what made the story interesting is the journey, not the destination.
