No, it´s from Dark Horse (I mean… I though it was from DC before I look up the comics…)

Deleted user

Same, I haven´t check anything up since started to work on mine (except for a few indie stuff…)

@Rainy_is_back

XD Most people would call me a fake fangirl I bet- because I enjoy watching the movies and stuff. But I'd probably shrug and tell them to back off.

Those are the elitist, there´s nothing wrong with seeing the movies, after all, they were made for a reason

@Rainy_is_back

Ok- thank you! Someone understands! XD I feel the same way- if they exist why not watch them too? Sometimes I watch the movies first not knowing there was a book series. And even if I did I like watching it so I have a better picture in my mind what is happening at the time.

Besides, movies are what drags people into the original source, so that should be even better for the people who likes that, seeing your fandom grow should be a good thing

@Rainy_is_back

Yeah- but they don't see it like that and think just because we don't care that much about the super small details means we clearly aren't "true fans"

That´s really annoying, like, I seen people complaining about the Hellboy movies (I´m using those as an example since I mentioned them earlier) are so different from the comics and such but shouldn´t that be good? yes, the original source is grea but shouldn´t a movie get more credit for being good despite being different from the source material?

@Rainy_is_back

EXACTLY! Like no- it isn't the exact same. But that means it was either A.) Impossible or increasingly difficult to film. or B.) They had to make it fit the time frame they had for the amount of money. What are you gonna do about it?

And not everything works in movie format, changes are obviously going to happen

@Rainy_is_back

Yeah- I mean if you read a book where the character is talking to themself in their head, I find it super obnoxious when you can hear their thoughts. So I thank the directors above for not adding that bit.

Besides, there´s also the producers, like, maybe the original source is like… pg16 and the movie has to be pg13, some stuff have to me changed or removed

@Rainy_is_back

Mhmm. And it could be too violent for kids in visual verse just reading it. Or graphic- or whatever, it could make the movie rated R instead of PG-13

Deleted user

I mean, Marvel and DC movies can be seeing by kids but the comic… there are some messed up stuff there… and it could be good, once they grow up they could join the rest of the fandom

@Rainy_is_back

Yeah- that makes a lot more sense then keeping it 100% accurate. Some things it'd be cool to watch it 100% accurate, but then again maybe not. Especially if the book had a drag in the middle, you'd be wasting time and money on the drag.

And sometimes the source can be a little bit… shady, but the movies can be good (example, I imagine if someone made a Lovecraft movie they would have to put away the racism in his work)

Deleted user

Making movies is complicated, also, the characters, some stuff would look awful in real life, even with sfx make up and CGI

@Rainy_is_back

Mhmmm. Honestly- it's a little ridiculous how people act towards this thing that didn't even have to be made. But somebody took the time and effort to do it.

Deleted user

Which should be even more admirable, because those things aren´t cheap nor easy
