@Wry_Wyvern

I played the viola too; I quit 4 years ago and picked up the French horn.
And because I hated orchestra, at least on the elementary school level. I hated band on that level too, and I was this close to quitting music in general… I have no idea what middle/high school would have been like if I had. Band and music have become such a huge part of my life.

Yeah well after a 10 minute google search I feel discriminated against because there is no sheet music for shinedown songs for the alto clef. but there is for treble clef.

I used to play the trumpet but I dropped it since my school's band program was really lame (one lesson a week during the middle of other classes, never at a constant time).

I can still play it pretty well, and a bit of ukelele. And I sing.

I'm best at piano. I've been playing for about 12 or 13 years… I also tried to pick up guitar, though I'm not very good, and I play some ukulele. I also played the flute for a time, as well as the violin (which I was awful at). And I sing some, if that counts for anything.

Yeah, for those of you who do piano, what to you do? Classical piano? Jazz? Anything improv? Or more modern stuff?
Personally I was classically trained, but I also learned how to read chord charts and can mess around with those a little. (Excuse my nerding out about this)

Mostly classical and a little splash of some cOnTeMpOrArY tUnEs™️ just kinda whatever. I know one arrangement (that has been somewhat simplified and is only the most iconic part of the song) or Für Elise by heart.

I uh… have an (slightly unhealthy) obsession with Chopin's music… I have one of his waltzes (waltz in c# minor) permanently engraved into my memory, and I tried to take on the Revolutionary etude, which is extremely hard, and will probably take me years to perfect if I'm devoted enough, maybe months if I practice a lot more.
As for "contemporary," I usually opt for stuff like Billy Joel, Beatles, and whatever other piano-heavy things I can find within the genres I like.

That's understandable… I usually play with music. It takes muscle memory and usually several months of devoted practice to remember pieces, especially the tougher ones. However, I did piano for a grade at school, so I was forced to memorize a lot more than I wanted or was able to do in a neat manner.

I write music too, but only instrumental stuff. I'm not so good at lyrics so I'm super impressed with anyone who can do that. Usually it's just piano, or a duet between piano and another instrument (so far, violin and trombone, based off of who I could get to play stuff with me.)
