Of course.
Of course.
Sure! Depending on how strange, I'll answer
Yeah, sure, shoot dude
Go ahead!
Well it really depends on the sport.
Well, yeah. but you know what i mean
Yeah I know what you mean. But, boxers often train in sweats and hoodies so that they sweat and lose the excessive water weight in their body so that they can cut for weigh-ins before a fight. Prominent karatekas also do the same. But instead of cutting down for weigh-ins they do it to slim themselves up.
Alright here it is along with some background
Here's my problem, I have no clue what to do. I am an athlete, but recently, I am lazy and slow. It's really not good for me. My plans are to run so fast I get paid to go to college, but I can't bring myself to do it for whatever reason. I think I found the reason yesterday, I am afraid of getting hurt. I've been hurting for so long, emotionally at first. Then things got better, then I twisted my ankle badly, and then soon after I broke it. And things got bad emotionally again. I'm tired of hurting and crying and thinking I'm not good enough. Yesterday, I met someone with my name, my age, who is literally so much better than me in every way. I don't know how to help myself and I'm afraid to tell my friends and family cause they have the tendency to not take me seriously and call my explanations "excuses" or whatever. Is there anyway y'all can think of where I can help myself get past this?
Okay! Ask away!

I see your problem. I've actually had this problem myself when it comes to other things. Your goal isn't to surpass them. Your goal is to surpass yourself until you're greater than you were, and by extension then they are. I don't exactly know what Athletic Field you've invested in, but I'm sure you'll do great, and I'm sure you are great. In fact you sound like a pretty good person to me. Not just athletically, but in general. All I can say is that support is the one thing that can really help somebody get results, so we're here to support you 100% man!

Thanks man…I play soccer, but I've been struggling with Track recently. I do them both at the same time, and it's a little tiring but I really really wanna succeed, and this is like the year I have to do it, and it's really scary cause I'm not too sure I can. Especially at this rate. Can you explain what you mean on surpassing myself, not my lazy problems and such?
Can't help you there, sorry. I'm 0% athletic.
What I mean is that each time you pass a you've set for yourself, you should be happy about it, don't worry about what the other person is doing, try your best to worry about yourself. You do track and soccer, I don't quite know what the training methods for those are, could you inform me as to what you guys do?

Well school ends, I change. I go down to the track run a workout with like 1-2+ miles in sprints then I speed change and go to soccer practice. My problem is with track, and its not like the training is hard, it's the other stuff. Like the actual races, I get so nervous. When I'm home I have to do abs and lift and such, but I'm too lazy to do that so it's just like….yeah
Yes. You have to focus on your muscular endurance. Things like calisthenics and bodyweight exercises are optimal, because unlike weights they can give you muscle without building mass, which allows you to stay mobile. They also help the stabilizer muscles that your body has to do things like walk, and run like you are training to do. Bodyweight is better for this type of thing that you're trying to do. Of course free weights are good as well, you should do more things like squats, and such so that you can carry greater weights with your legs allowing you to push off the ground harder, and that's run faster. ABS is always good, because your core is an essential part of running as well.
There's a cute manatee in Ariel's Beginning, his name is Benjamin
I LOVED HIM

See while that's all helpful, I can't find any sort of motivation
I understand. For a while I couldn't find any motivation either when it came to fitness. Do you have anyone to prove something to?

I understand. Is there anything that helps you rekindle your passion for such things?
