Hey guys, it's Brooklyn! I know it's been a while, but I'm just popping in. I think I'm just going to be on here for a little bit and de-stress for a while. So some updates on me is that I just started High School and I turned 14! Anyway, how are you guys?
Hi there. I've never talked to you, but I am also de-stressing. I don't know when your birthday is, but happy birthday! I am also in high school, I'm a sophomore, i'm 16. Nice to meet you. I'm doing okay, how are you?
I'm just holding out until break right now, online school has stressed me out so much and I just don't have the motivation to do work right now. Anyways nice to meet you Charles!
Same though, school is just really stressful right now. I don't know what class you're taking right now, but if you need help, I'm willing to try my best; except, with the language bit, I took french just a heads up. I hope you're having a good evening/day
I'm also taking French along with some other basic classes such as Bio, Geometry, etc. Thank you for the offer, though. As long as my grades are decent enough, I can apply for AP classes and some college courses next year and I'm trying to take advantage of scholarships right now.
Wow! I am only doubling up on two classes, I can't imagine taking AP just yet. I'm glad you're taking your chances while you can. There's nothing better than taking your future with your own will. I hope you accomplish all your dreams, and become the best you can be. You sound really amazing
Thank you, it's hard to believe that I'll be applying for college in only 2 years and I always feel like I'm not doing enough to compete I guess. I don't even know what I want to do, lol.
As long as you are doing something; for example, trying, you are making progress. my advice is think about things you love to do. even if it's a simple activity, or a new hobby, it is an option. also, you still have time; as someone who worries about this a lot as well, we both have time. Just a reminder that most people still don't know what they want from their future. There are a lot of options. Take you time, and enjoy what you have now, and just keep trying. You got this, and there are always people to support you.
Thank you for the advice, yeah I just feel like there's so much to do and I'm just running out of time. There are such high standards for high schoolers now to get into these good colleges and there are so many people you have to stand out against. Idk I guess highschool just wasn't what I made it out to be.
Yeah I definitely agree. I imagined high school a lot better than I thought it'd be. I can assure I also relate on how I feel like I'm running out of time. Just know, that someday it'll get easier.
HEY, KID! IT’S GREAT TO SEE YOU!
HEEY, NICE SEEING YOU TOO!! Hows it been?
Pretty good. I got a job now. And basically everything there is cool.
Hey congratulations on getting a job, what do you work as now?
Drive thru dude. Take orders and cash people out and clean stuff. It’s a good living. Also I get $14/h so.
Gonna move out this year too.
A pat on the back for you, all of that is a huge accomplishment! I'm assuming that being a drive-thru person is just a temporary job until you can get a job you want?
Thanks!
Sort of. Ngl I like my job. But I’m sort of questioning what I want to do and how far I want to go to get it. I might end up being a cinematographer. But we’ll see. Also C19 did add on to the questioning bit, what with movies/shows being shut down.
I've also been getting really into the film industry as well! At first, I wanted to be a cinematographer, but I've been considering acting and being a director. I'm not really sure at this point because I'm not sure if going to a film college would be worth it. I guess filming is a new obsession at this time, my interests have been all over the place.
Glad to hear! The film industry is amazing from what I know though of course, it has a few dangerous facets no lie.
Have you had any acting experience? Nothing for me but a couple kiddie plays that I helped write. (One of them became the eventual first draft of Addar, one of my books.)
There are some good online programs from what I’ve heard and seen. Think on it ig. Time changes many things. But the art is surely beautiful.
I've only acted in my middle school drama, unfortunately, I didn't get to join this year. My dad gave me his old Rebel EOS so I have some experience with the camera and my school has some film and screenwriting classes I can take. I might go to a summer camp or something if the vaccine ever comes, but I've been trying to work on a little short film by myself as a little project. I watched the Joker last year and I was so mesmerized by the cinematography and the storytelling and everything and I was like "hey I want to do that", and now I'm here.
Good for you. I actually bought a LGV-30 phone for cinematography purposes. Still haven’t gotten around to doing anything with it but that’s my problem.
I got to go to a camp. It was a wonderful experience and I met some great people. Also got a fever of 103 Lol.
Oh that sucks, are you ok?
Oh totally. That was a couple years ago.
I got the fever while at camp I mean.
