WELL THEN, LET'S GET IT ON, BOI!!
Hey, hey, hey. I am not afraid to use force to stop a fight.
(….what's a redneck?)
(….what's a redneck?)
a working-class white person, especially a politically reactionary one from a rural area

I’m an emo kid ig
And Texan >:)
(Squirrel moment: I did not realize that was the actual definition of redneck. I always considered rednecks to be rough/rowdy southern US country folk that like loud cars and louder music lmfao!)
(Methinks I confused it with hillbilly, lmao!)
(Anyway, I’m gonna go vanish again…)

So did I…

Lol. Honestly, I think there is a similarity. But, I think a redneck is more ‘iconic’, so to speak, for something like a pickup with confederate flags all over it, hooting and hollering as they will. Hillbillies might have the same pickup, but no flags, and more backwoods than redneck. I think that’s kind of the difference. I may be wrong
Lmao I thought rednecks were like those guys in the Simpsons

as a creature with both Redneck and Hillbilly blood, lemme tell ya: that there 'actual definition' flattens it out so much its bad😭 Redneck: trailer park, old beat up truck, prob Southern, or new truck that they absolutely can't afford, a tan, yeah working class, yeah loud & hootin' 'n' hollerin', obnoxious bad country music.
Hillbilly: think rustic rural mountain man. lives in the woods, relatively self-sufficient (gardening n farming so they dont need grocery store so much), also Southern probably.
this is just my experience, as someone who has never been farther north than Tennessee! 😅. just the entire south side of the US, from GA to NM. but I think that ^ is a pretty universal impression of the difference between to two idk

Thank you! I knew I was missing pieces! And I suck at explaining shit sometimes. I think my extended family (all pure Alabama and Mississippi folk) is a combination of both, though probably more hillbilly, so hence why I keep getting them mixed. It doesn’t help that I don’t know them that well either…
And, having traveled to almost all the states, I think my brain just starts compacting shit to keep things ‘organized’. My brain be backwards sometimes lmao!
