Oof.

One of the weirdest has to be "keepin those pretty lips smooth, huh, gorgeous?" while I was putting on chapstick

The same guy a few days ago honked at me

he was driving down the street and I was taking a walk as I do. I thought he was honking at the car next to him so I sort of brushed it off, but later in my walk on a more private road, he did it again so it was me

I don’t get it why did he do that

@The-N-U-T-Cracker

i don’t think i’ve had any weird experiences like that before
people tend to just leave me alone
…unless i’m at church gatherings, but it’s ok then cause all the creepy old people already know me so conversations aren’t awkward

@Pickles group

Oh yeah, a year or two ago, I was out doing calendar sales with my friends for marching band, and some guys drove by and honked at us. And then they did it again. And earlier this year, I was driving my car up to the high school (I parked at the Jr. High and had winterguard that day. I didn't want to walk down to my car in the dark, so I brought it up right after school). I had my sunglasses on because it was kind of bright and I had a headache, and some kid started gesturing at me in the sort of junior high esque "I'm popular and you aren't so I'm going to make fun of you" way. I almost flipped him off but the line started moving again. No idea what he wanted, but I'm assuming he was making fun of me wearing sunglasses in the middle of winter

My sister and I have an unspoken rule where if she catches me eating an ice cream sandwich when I'm not supposed to, I'll give her part of it to keep her quiet

I love that

@RedTheLoveless

The only occasion in which I was hollered at was when I was walking to Alek's apartment with Alek, Danny, and Dirk. For context: we're all pretty interesting to look at in terms of all of us having dyed hair (Danny = blue, Dirk = green, Alek = pink, me = blonde), with mine being the most subtle.

So this car starts to slow down as we're walking along on the sidewalk. It slowed down enough to match our group walking speed, which makes us turn to make eye contact with the people in the car. They start honking at us, and someone in the backseat rolled down their window to holler out "Awesome hair!" and sticking a thumbs-up out the window, speeds off down the street.

Ok similar story

A few days before I got sick, we went to the lake because why not
So I went down on the beach, and there was a dad and his kid(the kid was maybe 7?)
And this kid sees me and says 'human being'
I was like ??????
And the dad says 'Yes. Distance ourselves from the human being.' and grins at me
I did the smile, wave, speedwalk the hell outta there

Me as a dad.

I think being cat-called is interesting. You find out a lot about a person from the way they cat-call, what they say, what they do, and the type of person they cat-call.

It really is like that sometimes.

I get what you mean. Too bad it won't happen with me probably.

@croccin-champagne

catcalling is so often threatening for me, because it seems to happen more when i'm alone and the streets are less crowded, or in worse areas. and a good chunk of the time it's things like 'bring that juicy ass back over here'(that makes. no sense i would hope my ass wasn't juicy but) or something else very not comfortable that is sometimes followed by more comments, even when i'm trying to walk away. it's just. not fun for me, as a young teenager with very little ability to defend myself against a larger attacker

@HighPockets group

I've never been catcalled, and I hope I never am because I really don't like being seen in a sexual manner. I just want to be left alone and not have creepy guys make gross comments about my boobs and butt while I'm just walking around and stuff.

Honestly what Crocs said
When I go downtown (aka where I get catcalled), it does bother me a bit
Because it's a dangerous place
It isn't the kind of situation where if something happened to me, I'd get saved
Anyone who saw something happening would join in or walk away
And as someone with a bit of a sharp tongue
It's really hard not to say anything back
But I can't fight well enough to get a grown man off me
And I'm not about to risk getting raped or assaulted because I wanted to talk back.

@The-N-U-T-Cracker

i’ve never been catcalled
partially because the only time I leave the house is with my entire family of small children
i got called hot multiple times on the internet when i was 10 tho in their defense i did look way older than i was

I might be the only one who finds it fun then, I just look them in the eyes and smile

You're definitely not
When I'm with other people and can safely respond, I'll do so

Oh it’s even better when you’re a 13 year old who was asked to nip to the shops for your mum, and then a full grown man with his 9 year old looking son starts cat-calling you and asking for your phone number 😂
I still remember the look in my mum’s eye when I told her about that, she couldn’t understand how I was so calm about it

@Anemone eco

I hate that this is a mentality we have to have

I do too. Some people thoroughly make me sick. Quite literally.
