I usually just take a break where I don't even think about writing at all, probably for a day. Then I'll write something else, like a random scene that doesn't belong to anything to get the juices flowing. Have you made a plot outline for your book? That would help tremendously.
I like listening to ASMR, it relaxes me and helps me think.
I just eat and do something to get my mind off of writing and then come back to it.
I go to a writing prompt page I follow on tumblr, and write a short story on that. It helps me get back into the mindset I need to write.
Go people watching and imagine their story and what they're going through at the moment. Just don't stare to hard.
Take a walk; exercise and fresh air stimulate the brain and the break away and change of scenery don't hurt, either. If it's still not working when you get back, try writing something else, something you're not pressuring yourself about, maybe even something you will never publish because you know it's just bad writing, but it gets things rolling.
I lie very still staring at the ceiling or out a window or something and just let my brain float. Or I write something short and completely unrelated, like a tiny bit of a conversation between two random people or a description of a place or something like that. Taking a walk sometimes helps too, like M1ssUnd3rst4nd1ng said.
Make a playlist for your characters and listen to it
MUSIC IS GREAT. Simon and Garfunkel are great artists to get poetic juices pumping (for me)
When writing I usually get writers block and don’t know what to write next, most people say to just write it doesn’t matter what you write just write. I do find this helpful, but I find it more helpful to go back and edit my work. When I do that I end up expanding in between some parts or finding something belongs somewhere else, and all of that helps me because it usually gives me an idea or it reminds me of one I forgot. Or it reminds me of a detail I forgot to include somewhere else. I may also find a sentence I am really proud of and it gives me motivation.
