The best thing you can do, really, is give it time. If he wants to open up, he will. I know how difficult it can get

He always says 'never mind' when he's talking because he doesn't think it's important. Which hurts my heart so much because "Buddy, your my best friend I want to hear whatever you have to say." But he just doesn't get that. He doesn't get that I always care about what he says and I always want to know what he's feeling, if he'll let me.
I'm sorry to talk of such a petty problem, I know a lot of people on this site have depression and anxiety and real problems. I respect you people, you go through so much every day. I'm so lucky that I don't have to deal with that and I wish so desperately that you didn't have to either.
But sometimes you just have to yell, and I didn't want to yell into the void because the void doesn't give advice.

All problems are real and valid. Don't think that because others have worse that means your problems do not matter. I feel for you. Pain caused by a friend is one of the worst sorts, especially when you just want to help.
