Sammal tilted his head towards the stranger in acknowledgement, gesturing toward the crowd below them. "Of course. One must find suitable lodging on the road, even if it comes in the form of this."
In all honesty, he was bored. He had been bored for days on end, long before he'd checked into this town, and if starting bar fights was the only way to get some entertainment for a night he would gladly throw the first punch. Alas, those were uncouth and he had a reputation to uphold, even if no one here knew it yet. "I would ask your name," he started, glancing at the other out the corner of his eye, "but I doubt you would be inclined to give it willingly."
He caught a glint of fire in the guy's clear eyes. He tilted his head for a moment before shrugging, leaning an elbow against the railing, outstretched towards him. "Nah, I won't be around long enough for it to matter, hopefully. Sven." the corner of his angular face turned up and his tassled tail twitched, the only sign of anticipation besides the cracked smile, "Seems you're waiting for something, whaddya say to a sparring match? No holds barred." he was itching for some actual action beyond the nuance of the crowd below.
"Sammal. I am." He said, turning to sweep a glance over the crowd. No sign of the guild-member, yet, so what was a bit of fun between near strangers? Challenging an unknown party to a combat situation holding nothing back was a dangerous move, though one he could appreciate. Fighting in the inn itself wasn't a brilliant idea, however, and he raised a slender eyebrow at the thought. "Perhaps we could take it outside? I do not think the innkeeper would appreciate his business being damaged by stray weapons any more than it has been."
"Sammal. Interesting name. Nice to meet ya." He laughed heartily in response to the guy, "Yeah, wouldn't be a bad idea. Match ends when the other concedes." chuckling again, "C'mon, I'm rearing to go!" He placed both hands on the railing after their firm handshake and vaulted over the railing, landing behind the bar next to the tender who yelled "HEY" In response. "Sorry, boys, got a fight to try and win!" Another single handed vault and he carried his legs over the counter between two patrons, leaving a few pieces of gold for their next drinks before bolting out the entrance. His height and limberness came in handy when it came to maneuvering around. "C'mon, guy!" (He's 20 and fiery XD)
(he's adorable omg)
Sammal blinked, not expecting the response to be so enthusiastic, before he shook his head with a faint ghost of a smile. Well, Sven had the right idea - the fastest way down was over the railing. He hauled himself over it, catching the bars before dropping down the rest of the way. He landed in a crouch, just clipping a table with his tail and giving the patrons at it a half-hearted salute, and headed out the door at a much slower pace than his new sparring partner. It wouldn't do to tire himself out beforehand, or before he saw what other sort of weapons the taller carried. The street opened up before them, shadowed from the sunset, and a couple interested patrons followed them out from the inn. Which would be interesting, he usually didn't have an audience for his fights.
(im gonna try to get an hour or two of sleep in before my shift starts so i'm not downing monsters like water. sorry! ^^; )
(Don't worry about it! just respond when you can. Loving this!)
Sven waited for Sammal to arrive outside, leaning back and forth on his feet, tail swaying side-to-side. He had no clue if he'd be able to beat the guy, but that was the point of a spar, wasn't it? He stood a few yard distance from the shorter man, scanning over him. He looked like a formidable opponent, Sven knew how hidden weapons were; he didn't have many but he knew how to look for them. He wondered if the guy had mastered all of his weapons, and was anxious to start. He sent the guy a friendly smile. "Alright, don't kill me, but other than that, give me all you got." he closed his fists, bending his knees, ready to move.
(Awh, also I just saw that you called Sven adorable, thanks so much! He's supposed to have a silly personality despite a difficult past. I think that Sammal would be a character I'd like to draw, do you happen to do any art as well? Are his horns like ram horns? how long is his tail, and what color? His skin color? How long is his braid? Sorry for all the questions, lol)
(you're fine! i draw him a bit too much so he's now got art on his page if you wanna check it out: Sammal )
"No promises." Sammal said, a hint of amusement in his voice. He tilted his head to the side, judging the distance between them and the position of the sun. Would it be cheating to fight with his back to it? Probably, this was supposed to be friendly after all. Sven didn't look like he had many weapons on him, and certainly not as many as Sammal himself carried, but that meant nothing in the face of easily concealed weapons. He reached over his shoulder, drawing the rapier clasped to his back, and turned to the left slightly.
"Whenever you are ready, on three?"
(Oh, that's cool. I don't think the fight will be too long, Sven probably isn't going to be a good match lol also I'll respond when I wake up, not sure if you still will be, sorry! ^^;)
hey im so so sorry to interupt but this looks super cool ;-;
(lol he can always be a surprise and still win! i'm probably heading to bed too, so have a good night!)
(Ah wow thanks! I'm really loving it so far. :3)
Sven was glad the other man was amused by the situation; that should make it fun for the both of them. Sven was holding his lucky dagger in his left hand, still with string attached and looped around his belt. He noticed the side holsters on the man's armor, and decided what his first move would be. "On three. Three," He said, taking a deep breath in, "Two.." He spoke with the other, letting it out. He took one more deep breath and moved into a running position, before, "Three!" He let it out and quickly approached the man, a tossed dagger aiming for his left shoulder, while Sven ran to the right, cord between the two.
