All the songs sounded the same, it had potential but just kind of brushed it away. I couldn't even tell what time period it was and had to look it up after the movie. They had so much to work with and really I could have done better with making that movie and I don't even know how to direct and all that. Overall it's just overrated and unrealistic at times.

@Mindful_Bison

Thank the lord! I'm not alone! My mom loves it, so she made me watch it. There's too much singing (yes I know it's a musical) and I just think there's too much "I can do anything" for me.

@Masterkey

I thought it was OK. Some of the songs I thought were pretty good, but the autotune annoyed me. I also didn't like how they completely twisted history to make a horrible guy look like some kind of social activist… Hugh Jackman did everything right though, he's an amazing actor.

@basil_

what is wrong with you guys its amazing and yeah it doesn't follow the real story of p.t barnum but its meant for families. like what family wants to watch a violent abusive movie?? I think it's amazing and even though i dont really like zac efron and zendaya, this movie really made me respect them and hugh jackman is just amaaaaazing. I judged it before i saw it and now after watching it i love it and you should really watch it

@HighPockets group

I’ve seen about half, and I agree. All the songs sound the same except for the bar one and the beginning one, Anne and Philip’s relationship was too rushed, time period was confusing, it wasn’t like Fantastic Beasts where I could just look at it and go, Hey, that’s the twenties! I like Anne and Lettie though.

@HighPockets group

Also, the fact that it was so “You can do anything no matter what!!!!” at all times. In the time period that this movie takes place, people wouldn’t have accepted those people

@basil_

exactly the point of it. people learned to except and love them
i wish people would stop critiquing every little bit of everything and just enjoy stuff.
i dont care what time period it is in the movie
i dont care that people during that time wouldn' t except them
i just watched the movie, loved it, and moved on with my life

And I watched the movie, hated it, and moved on with my life. People are allowed to have different opinions. If you liked the Greatest Showman, I suggest you move to a different thread and stop trying to invalidate our opinions.

@WriteOutofTime

I haven't seen it but it looks fun. I'm a sucker for musicals so I don't care too much about plot if the songs are fun. Plus Hugh Jackman and Zendaya!

@Masterkey

Well I agree that it's fine to change the storyline so that you're not making a movie that praises a horrible person, but for me, I just couldn't get on board. :( I mean, in the end, I wasn't sure what they were trying to say. That PT Barnum wasn't as bad as people thought? That he actually cared about equality (even after owning slaves) or cared about the "freaks" that he actually caged and whipped for fun? That he was so cool for starting show business or whatever? I wanted to like him, but I just couldn't. The truth of history and the message of the movie are such conflicting ideas that it was hard for me not to be distracted. It was really entertaining though, not gonna say I didn't enjoy myself during the movie. But after…

wasn't trying to offend you :/

@ThatBackgroundSlytherin

Okay, my dudes, chill. Hate is a very strong word. We are not supposed to be bashing it we are just giving our different opinions about how we felt about it and how it could have been improved.
(Sorry if that was preachy…)

@"cgc.who.locked334" I’m sorry for being snippy, it’s just that you were kinda being a bit…bossy, I guess, by trying to tell us holes in what we said. Friends?
