"Hey, Azrael! Aren't you supposed to reap someone soul today?" Hellyn, her research partender and wife, said. This isn't important, but they were in an open relationship.
"Yeah…" She looked at her list. "Johari Mavers."
"Hey, Azrael! Aren't you supposed to reap someone soul today?" Hellyn, her research partender and wife, said. This isn't important, but they were in an open relationship.
"Yeah…" She looked at her list. "Johari Mavers."
Johari ran down the streets asking around for the couple, but nobody had seen them. She was about to give up hope when she spotted the back of the shorter one. Instead of thinking of a way to sneak the wallet back into his pocket, she just ran over. Nile stood in front of a vendor searching his pockets, most likely for his wallet while the man behind him watched the crowd. Johari ran up to Nile, wallet in hand, and tapped his shoulder. "Uh, I'm sorry, but you dropped this." Nile turned around and looked from his wallet to Johari, who stood red faced from running. He smiled lightly and took the wallet from her hand, "Thank you."
"When are you gonna do that?" Hellyn asked
"Soon.." Azrael said
Johari turned to walk away and was met with the shorter man. He stared at her, suspiciously. "He didn't really drop his wallet, did he?" I put on a look of confusion and went to sidestep him. "Answer the question." I looked him in the eye and spoke, "Yes, he did."
'He dropped it right into my hand.'
"How soon?" Hellyn said.
"In about… 2 minutes." Azrael said, grabbing her scythe.
Nile turned back to us, three paper plates of queso fries in his hands. "Cam, chill." He said the man in front of me. Nile held a plate out to me, and I took it. "I'm Nile, that's Cam. Thank you for returning my wallet" He said and nodded his head to the man behind me. I bit my lips, trying to come up with an alias. "I'm Jo, and you're welcome." Cam spoke up, "Nile, we should move on." I smiled at Nile, turned and smiled at Cam before disappearing into the crowd.
Two minutes later.
Azrael was waiting in an alleyway.
(I realize now that I switched POVs sorry)
(You good!)
(also… Johari should bump into Azrael again)
Watching Johari disappear into the crowd, Nile smiled. Cam noticed the smile and scowled. "Don't tell me.." Nile laughed and turned his gaze to his fries. "Okay, I won't tell you." Nile began walking in the direction that Johari had gone, figuring that he would find her at some point. He knew that she had stolen his wallet. It wasn't hard to see. It also wasn't hard to see that Death was waiting for her.
(Got ittttt!)
Johari shoved the last of her fries into her mouth and tossed the plate into a trash can. She turned into the alley that led to her apartment and made eye contact with the Grim Reaper.
She made her scythe shine in that dark alleyway.
"Tick… tock…" She sang creepily.
Johari turned on her heel and continued walking on the street where if anyone saw her death they might mourn her. Might.
But unforunately… there was a wall blocking her now.
"Memento Mori…" She said, spinning her scythe and going after Johari
Nile and Cam followed at a distance, watching Johari weave her way through the throngs of people. A figure swept after her. It held a scythe, and both the men recognized the figure as Azrael.
She chased after Johari, knowing she couldn't run forever.
"EVERYONE HAS TO DIE EVENTUALLY!" She shouted
Nile smiled at the words. "Not everyone." He picked up his pace, breaking into a sprint and almost barreling into Azrael. He grinned at her, "Hey old friend."
"YOU IDIOT!! She was marked on my list to die!" She said, yelling at Nile.
"Now look! She's getting away!"
Nile shrugged, "Well, you can try killing me.. again, but remember what happened last time."
(I might take a while longer to reply bc I'm gonna start doing my chores.)
"Get outta my way!" She pushed Nile out the way, and started chasing Johari.
(oof)
Nile watched the two females running away from him, a grim smile on his face. "You could've said excuse me."
"JOHARI MAVERS COME BACK HERE!" Azrael shouted, her scythe spinning
