"Oh. I've had her for about two months, and no, it isn't easy." He replied, shaking his head. "Shape shifting came in very useful." He chuckled softly. "I've been looking for a crew for a while." It was odd that he had had to search for a crew; most Sha'liss had a family group that they traveled with, or at the very least a close group of friends. One Sha'liss on their own was rare.
She deeply wanted to ask why he was alone, instead of with his family but held back. She didn't want to be a hypocrite or upset him by making him say they were dead or something. Charlotte settled for giving him a bright sweet smile, ”Well, I'm here now.” she said saluting.
He laughed softly. "Well good." He replied. He continued giving her a tour of the ship, going from room to room.
Charlotte followed him all over the ship, learning as much as she could before they actually left port. She couldn't wait for that. Her absence was most definitely noticed by now but it was doubtful that anyone would look for her on a ship… Much less following a Sha’liss. She genuinely didn't care, but she knew people who would have a panic attack if they found out.
"And last but certainly not least, this is the cargo hold." He said as he opened the door and went inside. "There isn't much in here, but there probably will be more later." He looked around. Had things been…moved? Odd. Something seemed wrong.
Delila realized they had come in the room and held still. She had gone over this a million times. She would be fine unless the rookie screwed up and moved or panicked. She let out a silent sigh before closing her eyes. She always found it easier to get though this part if her eyes were closed. Her eyes shot open when she heard a squeak from across the room when a box moved.
"Shit!"
Yaver held her position in place, hoping to God that no one heard her bump into the box. She didn't mean to lose her balance, obviously, but she was growing restless from sitting there so long, and had to at least stretch her legs a little bit. She held her breath, waiting for the world to continue on without her.
Charlotte stiffened at the disturbance in what should have been a mostly empty room. Her hand resting on the hilt of her cutlass as she turned to Zav, silently asking if he had noticed it too.
Zav frowned and nodded to Charlotte, walking over towards the source of the noise. He intentionally shape shifted, making himself bigger and taller as he started moving boxes. He raised an eyebrow when he spotted a girl hidden in the boxes, and removed the boxes around her, crossing his arms. "What are you doing aboard my ship?" He asked.
Delila was still as he heard the…captain? The captain asked what the other girl was doing on his ship. She hoped that she wouldn't give away that she was here. It was one of the rules but she didn't know them. She was planning on telling her after the ship started moving but now she didn't have the chance.
"I…was…" Yaver panicked. God knew Yaver couldn't lie without growing unbelievably nervous. "…looking for the restroom?" She guessed, knowing that wouldnt do anything, so she decided to just spit out the truth. Either way, she was shaking, and her mouth dried up incredibly.
"I'm so sorry, I'm in a bit of trouble and I need to find a way out of it. All I need are a couple of ingredients for a spell that I can't find on this planet, but I missed my ship. I can't return home without the ingredients for the spell, but I promise I can make myself useful on here. You won't even notice me."
Zav frowned, crossing his arms as his form slowly reverted back to normal. The tall Sha'liss still looked rather imposing, though not cruel. "Hm." He said slowly. "Well." He tapped his fingers on his sword for a moment. "I'm not sure. You can stay, I guess. One, you'll be a member of the crew. Two, I'm in charge, and if you aren't okay with working under a Sha'liss, then you had best get off this ship." He replied curtly.
Charlotte stood still, her face a mask and her tail lashing in an angry manner. She wasn't really mad just cautious… and curious about this girl. What kind of trouble was she in that she needed to stowaway and hope she ended up on the right planet? Her lips quirked a bit, thankful that she had come to the same agreement more amicably then the practicality shanghaied girl, who was shaking like a leaf.
Yaver exhaled, releasing a breath she didnt realize she had been holding as she feels her heart consider slowing down.
"Thank you, I owe you my life." She sighs out, standing up from her hiding spot and flashing a glance in the other stowaway's direction before quickly looking away.
"Where exactly do you plan on going today?"
(Bump?)
Zav took a deep breath. "You're welcome." He thought. "Wasn't planning on going anywhere today, there are still some preparations to make before we can depart."
Charlotte was a bit disheartened when she heard that the ship wasn't leaving yet, but she tried not to let it show. Chances were it would take them a couple of days, maybe a week at best, before the search moved to the port yard.
She had caught the other girls glance at another box and causally sauntered in that direction. ”First time sneaking on a ship?” she asked, raising a brow.
"If there's anything you need me to do, let me know." Yaver chimed, still a little tense that he might lead her to an authority and have her arrested, and that he's just playing it cool for now.
"By the way, what do I call you?" She continued, allowing a friendly smile to slip through, just in case.
"Oh, right. Zavace Cylor." He replied. "You can call me captain, Zav, Zavace, or Cylor. Any of them work." He chuckled softly, then followed Charlotte's gaze with a frown. "Oh, don't tell me there's another one." He said.
”Afraid so, Zav.” Charlotte answered looking at the brown-haired girl still hiding behind the boxes. ”Glad you're not superstitious about women on your ship.” she gave a brief chuckle.
Zav groaned. "Well, any other man in my position would be smirking and grinning to have three girls in his crew." He replied dryly, raking a hand through his hair as he walked over to Charlotte.
Charlotte could not hold back the raucous laughter at Zav’s statement. She knew it was true, and she was very thankful that flirting was all the farther the two of them had gone, but his exasperated tone just set her off. ”I’m sorry, Captain. It's just not often that you meet an honorable sailor. I mean no disrespect.”
Delila heard that she had been found out about and just relaxed. Based off the way they talked they didn’t mean any harm, though she would still be wary. She slowly stood up and leaned against the wall, still hiding her leg and eye. Cyborgs were often associated with Crime or Pirates even though most cyborgs weren’t. Often they got targeted by pirates for their robot body parts.
”Ya got me. What do you want me to do?” She asked.
Zav looked at Charlotte with a grin. "It's fine. I'm actually surprised you were alright with coming with me, considering that i am both male, and a Sha'liss. That isnt the best reputation." He chuckled softly, and turned to the second stowaway, becoming serious again. "Same question I asked the other girl. You're welcome to stay, but I don't do freeloaders. You work for your keep. I am the captain, so you will have to be alright with taking orders from a Sha'liss. If that grates your nerves the wrong way, then leave. I don't intend to press charges. Police wouldn't believe me anyway." Something unidentifiable flashed across his face for a moment, then was gone.
Delila nodded.
“That all sounds fine with me Captain.“ She said as she stuffed her hands in her pocket. “How soon are we leaving?“ She asked, wanting to leave here as soon as possible.
