She walked up to the stairs. The ship was mostly empty except for a few crew members. Kayla was almost off the ship before they noticed. "Hey!" One of them yelled. Kayla broke into a run, grabbing Williams hand and pulling him along. She ran into the center of the chaotic town.
William let her pull him along, wide eyed. He hadn't been able to find his sword before she pulled him away.
Once she lost the other pirates she ducked into a bar called Parrots Perch. She sat at the bar before looking at Sky. "Will you find Peter for me?" She asked Sky. She turned to William as Sky flew off. "You alright, Duke?" She asked.
William nodded. "Just call me William." He said slowly. "I'm not… technically the Duke anymore."
"Alright Will," She said with a smile. "So why were you moving to the colonies?" She asked.
"Personal reasons." He replied. "That i am not telling to a stranger."
"We're not strangers. We're friends that have just met." She said with a smile. Sky flew back and sat on her arm. "And now. We wait." She said while petting Sky.
"Hm. Still not saying." He replied, crossing his arms slightly and looking around. He stuck out like a sore thumb, with his clothes and his mannerisms. The way he carried himself.
"Loosen up, Will. You're basically asking to be mugged." She adviced. A dirty blonde man walked in and scanned the bar. His eyes fell on Sky and then on Kayla. He walked pruposely towards her.
Will glanced at her, and grudgingly loosened his stance and arms. His eyes flicked to the man warily.
"Captain!" The man said as he approached Kayla. Kayla turned around. "I was wondering how long it would take you." She said smiling. "Is the crew alright?" She asked.
William was silent, crossing his arms again, eyes flickering around. It unnerved him, being in a town like this. Full of pirates.
"Doing good Captian." He replied. "Good job, Peter!" She said patting him on the shoulder. "This is Will." She said gesturing to William. "William. This is Peter, my first mate, and quartermaster."
Will nodded. "Ah. I see." He said, shifting slightly. His eyes darted around anxiously.
"Shall we head back to the ship?" Peter asked. "Yes. Come on Will." She said waving him along.
Will sighed, and followed them, still wary of them, the town, everything. He didn't regret running away, but he regretted other things.
(hey, do you still want to do this?)
(Carp! I thought I replied to this!)
Peter lead them through drunken town to a large port. Tied to the dock was a huge ship with gray sails and the Jolly Rodger flapping in the wind. Kayla smiled when she saw it. "Will. This is my ship. The Zodiac." She said, showing off her ship.
(it's fine!)
Will nodded, looking at the ship. "She's nice looking." He commented slowly. Zodiac. That's an odd name. Interesting, though. Definitely unique.
"I know!" Kayla said beaming. They boarded the ship and was greeted by a crew. "Captian!" One yelled. "You're back!" "Of course I am!" Kayla yelled back. "I couldn't abandon my crew, could I?"
Will remained silent, trying not to draw attention to himself. He really didn't want these pirates to notice him and want to…he didn't even know. Kill him? Bash him over the head and steal everything he had?
"Who's that Captian?" One asked. "This is Will. He was kept on the same ship I was on. He'll be staying with us for a bit." Kayla explained. The crew nodded.
Will was silent, pulling his hat off and holding it in his hand as he looked around. He looked exactly like what he was; an English dandy, a man with money and power.
The crew looked Will up and down but didn't do anything. "Well, are we ready to head out?" Kayla asked her crew. "Yes, Captian!" They yelled as they began to get the ship ready for sailing.
Will cleared his throat softly. "What am I here for?" He asked. "Not that I am not grateful, but…what do you want me to do?"
