(I- I think so. What else can she do?)
(I- I think so. What else can she do?)
(It wasn't a judgement just a question, I was unsure)
Clare picked up Bella and quickly traveled to the almost cave, she built a small smokeless fire and positioned Bella so the poor girl would be comfortable then she closed her eye's and rested. Blissful sleep, how she had wished for this moment when her mind would be filled with molasses and her breathing would slow into a shallow pattern interrupted only when she would shift ever so slightly. Yes Clare embraced sleep.
(eep)
As time stretches on, a thick layer of dark clouds covers the sky and flakes of white begin drifting downwards. Slowly at first, but soon the rocky, uneven ground is covered by a layer of snow. The wind whistles past and twists between the bluffs above, sounding eerily like whispers. A hauntingly familiar rush of many voices muttering. The whispers wind their way through the dreams of those asleep, piercing the inter-dimensional magic of Clare's bag and touching the ears of those within. The snowfall comes down harder until there is nothing but a wall of white and darkness. But somewhere in the snowstorm, there is a presence. Ancient and knowing. It watches you, two burning red eyes in the distance.
holy shit
Iris jolted upright, heartbeat pounding a steady thrum in her ears. "You felt that," she stated, eyes frantic and wide. She brushed a hand over Azriel's wing, smoothing over a few feathers. Her Brachish wavered, "You did, didn't you?"
Azriel slowly nodded, eyes opening wide. "What was it?" She whispered.
"I… I don't think we want to know," she replied. Her hand fastened on her sheath as she stood, reluctantly moving out of her angel's warmth. A quick scan up and down Azriel provided no comfort. Mouth dry, Iris said, "You're in no condition for whatever is coming our way."
Azriel scowled. "Oh, do shut up," she growled. "I'll be fine. Honestly, I'm not useless just because I've been injured."
Frowning, Iris debated how to word her thoughts without insulting the girl. "You're not," she began, "but at the same time I don't want to risk overworking your body. You lost a lot of blood, Azriel…"
Azriel took several deep breaths to calm herself. "Well, we don't need to argue about this until we actually know what that noise was, and whether we'll have to fight or not," she said carefully.
Iris pondered for a moment before shrugging. "I suppose." Her face scrunched up as she thought. "I don't want you jumping into battle, though, with no warning if the need does arise." Hands now resting at her hips, the elf examined the angel again.
Crossing her arms, Azriel replied, "I won't promise anything."
An exasperated huff drove it's way out of the elf. Teeth gritted, she mumbled, "Don't overwork yourself. You should still be resting and recovering, for the time being."
"Well, we don't know what's going to happen. For all we know, it's just the wind. I can't rest and relax forever," Azriel warned.
An arched brow conveyed her opinions. "You felt that," she accused, "we both know that's unnatural." In Medein, she quickly called for Clare to discuss their plan of action. Facing Azriel once more, Iris soothed, "You won't be. You just have to restore energy and let your body rest, for my sake."
Azriel groaned. "I can not hold still for that long. It isn't physically possible."
"Would it help if I kept you rooted, again?" Iris smirked, grabbing the waterskin one more time and shoving it to her.
(D'you want to wait until Relsey comes back?)
(Yeah)
Clare woke with a start, her fire was smothered and the ground was covered with a thick blanket snow. There was a presence in the air, ancient and all knowing, It seemed to cut through the cold whispering and muttering. Clare suddenly remembered Bella, "Bella?" She looked around her and saw only snow. "Bella!" She began to dig around in the snow until she found Bella's sleeping form. A quick moment later the girls were surrounded by fiery felines. Clare shouted down into her bag, "Hey you girls alright?"
Bella whimpered in her sleep. It wasn’t a Peaceful sleep. Visions of blood, Azriel, Alex, her father, Clare and others danced in front of her closed eyelids yelling at her to stop. Voices filled her mind, whispers. They sent the visions away and left her in the cold cold darkness, until there was warmth.
"We're just dandy down here. But did you feel that?" Iris shouted back up in Medein.
Clare nodded before she remembered that the elf couldn't see her, "Yes, I did, It started snowing out here, so Azriel should stay in where it's warm. Do you have any idea what it was?"
She glared at Azriel, emphasizing her point before remembering the angel couldn't understand Clare. In Medein she replied, "Nope, but you're right. Azriel's staying here for the time being. How's Arabella?"
(oo happy 1000)
