"Well, that is true…I don't know how humans have survived for five years with the world slowly dying. Can I go visit my mom? I want to give her the surprise that her daughter is back."
"Well, that is true…I don't know how humans have survived for five years with the world slowly dying. Can I go visit my mom? I want to give her the surprise that her daughter is back."
"Sure!" He said, smirking.
She smiled as she looked around, trying to remember where her mother stayed while she was on earth. She knew for a fact that she hadn't returned back to Mount Olympus. After a moment or two, she started walking in the direction she last recalled her mother's house was. "I think it's this way…"
"Okay… lead the way." He said, following Persephone.
Persephone walked down a path that was made out of stone and grass. As she walked down, she started to remember all the time she spent playing around the area. She stopped momentarily when they reached the stream where she was abducted by Hades. She sighed and continued walking until she stopped in front of a house. She walked to the door and was about to knock, but something stopped her.
"what's wrong?' He asked, curious
"This is wrong. I shouldn't have let you help me escape the underworld. When Hades finds out, he's going to do everything in his power to get me back. Zeus could or could not help him. It all depends if he plays his cards right." She said as she backed away from the door. "I…can't…do this.."
"I can handle Zeus and Hades, you just worry about visiting your mom, okay?" He said, assuringly. He smiled gently.
Persephone sighed and slowly walked back to the door. With a shaking hand, she knocked on the door. She heard footsteps from inside and then the door opened. There standing in front of Persephone, stood Demeter, who looked quite awful and it seemed that it's been days since she last slept.
"Persephone?" Demeter said with a gasp when she finally recognized the woman standing in front of her.
Persephone gave her an awkward smile and a nod and was immediately given a hug by a crying Demeter.
Vozreal simply watched the beautiful reunion that was happening.
Out of her eye, Demeter noticed Vozreal standing there. "Darling, who is this man, and is he with you?" She asked.
Persephone turned around and gave a shrug. "Uh, I guess he is with me now. He helped me escaped the Underworld. And for who he is, I don't know. I don't think he ever introduced himself. Might be my fault though, I never asked him for his name."
"Name's Vozreal Rafter, ma'am!" He said, smiling and bowing before Demeter.
Demeter smiled. "Nice to meet you Mr. Rafter." She then turned to Persephone and hugged her again. "Please do come in, darling. There's so much I want to tell you and your friend can come in to." Demeter stopped and laughed. "Well, of course, he would want to come in. I doubt anyone would want to stay standing outside."
"Okay then…" He came in, but not before Persephone did
Persephone looked around the cottage and noticed that it hadn't changed much. It was weird because she thought it would have changed while she was gone. "So…anything new around, mom?" Persephone asked. Demeter shrugged. There weren't many new things, and Demeter was glad. "Not really, but Zeus did come by a couple of months ago, trying to convince me to come back to Mount Olympus and bring back the seasons." She paused and looked at Vozreal and Persephone. "Do you two want some water?"
"I would like some, yes ma'am!" He said, like ab true northern gentleman.
His Crimson Eyes glowed in the sunlight.
Demeter noticed how his eyes glowed in the sunlight but didn't comment on them. "Yeah, I haven't exactly had something to drink in the last 72 hours," Persephone said. Demeter smiled sadly and went into the kitchen. She poured some cold water into two glass cups and then returned. She handed one to Vozreal and the other to Persephone. "Thanks, mom," Persephone said as she took the water with a smile.
"Thanks, Miss Demeter!" He said, drinking it slowly
