She studied him for a moment, before shrugging a shoulder. "I'm no' quite doin' this right. D'ya wanna dance with me, or would ya rather dance on yer own?" Before he could speak, she added on. "Either one's fine by me. I can find another partner if ya want t' dance alone."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Kieran frowned slightly, thinking. "I…may as well dance with you, I suppose." He replied slowly, extending his hand to her. "If you want." Oh god I hope I didn't just say the wrong thing. I don't know how I'm supposed to act. What I'm supposed to say or do or… anything. I don't… He sighed softly.

@croccin-champagne

Elara huffed a laugh that sounded more like a snort, kicking her feet down and accepting the hand. She stood on her own though, her eyes sparkling. "Y'know, it's been forever since I've gotten t' dance. C'mon, ktherion, the music awaits."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded, and led her out to the dance floor. The Thari didn't dance often, as dance is often fueled by emotion, which is something they don't really have. So while a Thari could have perfect form, they lacked feeling behind their movements. Each move could be technically perfect, but without feeling, how much is a dance really worth?

Elara wasted no time in pulling Kieran into a dance, her feet moving easily in time with the music as she grinned. If someone payed attention, they might notice the similarities between her movements now, and a few of her fighting styles earlier. Her style was using the footwork from dancing, along to music in her mind, and switching randomly to keep people guessing. “So what’s havin’ horns like?” She asked, spinning around in a wild yet somehow controlled fashion.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Kieran followed her lead. "Normal. For me…a Thari only begins horn growth at sexual maturity, which varies per person." He shrugged slightly. "I've had mine since I was 14." Then he frowned. "That…was not an innuendo, I am not suggesting anything. It is like… human females only start their monthly cycles at sexual maturity. Thari begin growing their horns at that time."

@croccin-champagne

Elara raised an eyebrow in amusement, nodding. “Puberty. Tha’s what most humans call it, if yer lookin’ for a word that don’ sound like an innuendo.” She said, chuckling. “They ever get bothersome? They look cool, tha’s for sure.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Kieran nodded, then shrugged. "They get bothersome if ceilings are low and walls are cramped. Or if I am trying to lay on my side sometimes. But other than that, not really." He replied. There. Easy. Just answer questions about your species. Easy.

@croccin-champagne

“I can see tha’. Your hair e’er get tangled on ‘em?” The music apparently loosened her defenses enough to allow her to give in to curiosity. If he stopped giving forth answers willingly, she’d stop asking, but while he was giving them, she'd keep asking.

@croccin-champagne

“Looks good long.” She commented easily, grabbing both of his hands and stepping back, then pulling him towards her again and repeating the move before releasing his hands. She never held too tight, or pulled him too close, and seemed perfectly fine with that. “Do all Thari have eyes as strange as you?” She asked, as though her own eyes weren’t perfectly odd.

@croccin-champagne

Elara hummed thoughtfully, nodding, pretending she hadn't noticed his gaze shifting to the man. "I like the orange. Reminds me o' a lizard I saw once. Or an actual orange sorta, the fruit."

((IM SO SORRY I THOUGHT I REPLIED BUT APPARENTLY I CLICKED HOME AFTER TYPING UP A RESPONSE ON ACCIDENT))

@ElderGod-Icefire

Kieran frowned slightly, then nodded. "I am not sure if i should be offended by the comparison to a lizard or not." He said slowly, raising an eyebrow a little. Is it an insult or simply a comment? Either way, I don't know how to reply.

(Lol it's totally fine! Dont worry about it :) )

@croccin-champagne

"Lizards are great." Elara stated, snorting. "Small'n scaly, always hidin' out in the lil dark spaces 'tween bricks and rocks 'n' vines. Don' get me wrong, yer far from bein' as small as a lizard, but you've got the eyes o' one."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Kieran shrugged slightly. "I see." He replied. I know what lizards are and what they do, your highness. I did not need an explanation of that. His eyes flickered away from her as he looked around the room again, trying to keep an eye on the man.

@croccin-champagne

Elara didn't bother following his gaze this time, just sighed softly and maneuvered them so that her back was more to the man, allowing Kieran an easier view of him. She had an odd ability to know the man's movements even without eyes on him. "I had a pet lizard, when I was ten or so. His name was Sakan. Li'l red ringed verisant." She said, her sentences punctuated by humming along to the music.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Kieran nodded. "Ah." Pets… he blinked, and refocused on her again. He wasn't quite sure why Elara was telling him so much. Why she kept asking questions and talking to him. It's called normal conversation? Maybe? But why would she be trying to hold a conversation with me? I'm just a guard. Just Thari.

@croccin-champagne

"You e'er had any pets? I've had so many i's a miracle I can remember all o' 'em." Elara continued to talk, her steps getting a bit livelier as she did. She kept her back to the man Kieran kept watching, not sure why, but feeling the need to give him that at the very least.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Kieran shook his head. "No. I have never had the time nor the inclination for any." he replied, looking down at her for a moment, then looking around, scanning the room again. I am not sure if I should say anything about him… he thought. He won't touch her; probably will assume she is my owner. he looked back down at Elara again.

@croccin-champagne

"You've never wanted a pet? Ever?" Elara furrowed her brows, finding that odd. Though, it would make sense, considering how emotionless he was. Pets were companions, and he didn't seem like the kind of guy who wanted for companionship of any kind. "Huh. So, care t' share 'bout your mystery man o'er there?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

Kieran shook his head, then hesitated. No. Was what he wanted to say, but…he should tell her. He knew that. "He was a…friend of one of my previous owners." He replied slowly, eyes flickering away from her to look around the room again.

@croccin-champagne

The lightness that had seeped into Elara's expression bled away, replaced by a frown. "Why the hell's he ou' here?" She muttered, more to herself than to Kieran as she spun them around to get a quick look at the man, before returning them to their earlier position. "Tha's why you've been watchin' him."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Kieran nodded. "Yes." I can only hope he doesn't see me and recognize me. He swallowed. -hands on him- -"stop!"- he took a deep breath, eyes tracing up to the ceiling before coming back down, his attention divided between Elara and the man.

@croccin-champagne

The song came to an end, and Elara, looked back to their table, before raising an eyebrow. "Dancin' helpin' at all? Don' seem like i's gettin' your mind off 'im." She said, pausing to give her feet a moment of rest as she waited for an answer.
