Jasper stifled another laugh, nodding at Catori. “Scratch his head. Try it. I’ll be right back, I have to untack the horses.”
Jasper stifled another laugh, nodding at Catori. “Scratch his head. Try it. I’ll be right back, I have to untack the horses.”
Catori watched him go and thought it over, before running her hand through his hair.
Damian’s tense muscles relaxed as he leaned into Catori’s touch. He went as far as he physically move closer, loosely grabbing onto one of her hands to hold.
((bedtime for me, g'night!
Catori's eyes widened, but she tentatively ran her hand through again, and continued to repeat the motion. I'm fairly certain this wasn't what was supposed to happen?
Night!))
Damian practically melted in her lap, seeming to fall into a deeper sleep as Catori soothed him. Jasper reentered with the horse’s tack, setting it down. He looked st Damian, surprised and a little offended. “Now he chooses to be a sap.” He complained under his breath.
Soon enough Fletcher's magic had reached its standpoint so in the midst of catching Damian unprepared they quickly rushed towards the figures and imploded on itself and exploded in chaos and darkness.
(Edit: Don't count this one don't want to ruin the moment ; ) 😉
Lol okay 😂))
(sksksk i was so worried i shouted 'let the the boy nap' loud enough that i got a few odd looks
Catori looked up at Jasper, eyes wide an extremely confused. "This…probably wasn't what you had in mind."
“Not at all.” Jasper stared at Damian for another moment or two, trying to puzzle him out. “Huh… guess the rumors were true then.”
"Rumors?" Now she was curious, eyes on Jasper as she continued to gently run her fingers through Damian's hair.
“Well, you do know he’s half demon, right?” Jasper smiled awkwardly. Damian would kill him if he accidentally just destroyed his relationship.
Catori blinked, and looked down at the sleeping prince. "No, I was not aware of that."
Jasper grimaced. “I did not tell you that! You didn’t hear that from me.” He clicked his tongue. “The rumor going through the kitchens was that the King picked princesses who’d get the princesto settle down. Fight less.”
"Interesting." Catori hummed. "I don't know how good I'll be at getting him to 'settle down', but who knows."
“Well, you’re doing alright so far.” Jasper chuckled, gesturing to the prince stretched across her lap. “I should start getting us moving. I’ll be at the front of the carriage if you need me.”
Catori looked back up at Jasper, and nodded. "I'll remember that. Thank you!"
Jasper exited the carriage, closing the door. A couple minutes later the wheels creaked to life, and the carriage began to move. Damian stirred a little at this, but didn’t fully wake. “Tori?” He croaked, extremely groggy.
Fletcher finally reached the camp where he had prepared his final plans to take over the kingdom "peacefully". After all, as long as the people believe so, then you get loyal, ready people that will have more chance of sticking with you than If you take over by force.
"Still here." Catori replied, smiling softly. "We're on our way to Sana now."
Damian made a quiet rumbling noise in agreement. “Fletcher— the explosion… he came back?” The prince mumbled, not realizing how little sense he made.
"Uh, no? He's not here right now, haven't seen him since earlier." She wasn't quite sure what he was asking, but she hoped that was the answer.
Damian settled at this, stretching out om Catori’s lap, still more asleep than awake. Copper flew over to their side of the carriage with full intent on siphoning crackers from the sleepy prince.
"You really were tired. You shouldn't lie to someone who's worried about you, Damian." Catori stated, tossing a cracker to Copper.
“You wouldn’t be worried if you knew me.” Damian grumbled, hiding his face in the seat cushion.
"And yet, here we are." She laughed, looking down at him.
