"Friend?" He quickly looked at her. "We're friends?"
"Friend?" He quickly looked at her. "We're friends?"
"I figured that was a given," Camille replied after swallowing.
"Oh…" He smiled to himself. "I've never really had a female friend, let alone a gray friend."
"Grey?" She replied. "I'm white. Unless you're just teasing me," she smiled.
"Well, it's not a pure white. I mean. You're white but. Um. Crap. Sorry." Edmund turned away in embarrassment.
She tossed her head back in a brief laugh, "You're so awkward, I love it," Camille giggled.
"Oh, well I like how the light bounces off your scales." He said stuttering a little. "Is it okay for me to compliment you?"
"You're fine," she humored, "do you want some of this pig? I'd feel bad if I ate it all and didn't give you your fair share,"
"Uh, sure." He took a piece and went back to where he was laying to eat.
She rested her head on her front feet, talons laced together while she watched him.
"Would you want to look for some nice crystals?" He finished off his portion of pig.
She looked up at the crystalline walls, "How would we dislodge them?"
"I'll show you," he said. He ran up next to her and carefully held a small crystal, "If you wiggle it you can feel if it's loose or not, when its not you can chip off the crystal around it with your claw until it becomes loose." The crystal gave a small sharp crack and came loose. It was a beautiful shade of green, "here, you can have this one."
Camille lifted her talons to take it, carefully, "Huh.." she exhaled with fascination. Turned it over, then asked, "My favorite color is green,"
"Oh, well, that was lucky." He smiled and looked at her face as she observed the crystal. "Your turn to try."
She set the crystal down on the ground, then stood on her hind legs to reach a small cluster of whitish-pink crystals—rose quartz.
"Ah, rose quartz, beautiful rocks." He smiled, silently observing her as she removed the crystal.
She pulled it out with her teeth, considering her jaws were stronger than her fingers. Once she yanked out the chunk, she held it with her talons, "Here," she smiled.
"Thanks." He observed the crystal and started his pile next to hers. "So, do you want to keep doing this? Or do you want to do something else?"
"I like this," she replied with a broad smile.
"Well let's go deeper into the cave and see if we can find any bigger ones." Edmund smiled.
She coughed a little, then breathed out a tame flame, "I'll light the way," the flame flickered fitfully as she spoke.
"Alright, I'll follow."
Immediately Edmund noticed a flash of light green "Is that jade?" He ran over to get a better look.
She began padding into the belly of the cavern, and turned to see, "Well, I wouldn't know,"
