Forest, in big tree nest. Sister there too. She stopped and glanced behind her, hoping Sky wasn't too worried about her. Finally, she moved one of her wings up and shook her body so that the net to slide off of her, and she glared as she pushed it aside. She tried to stand up, but a sharp pain in her left leg made her stop and sit. She whined and checked herself to find that there was a bleeding cut in her flank. The rope must've dug past her thin scales during her panicked struggling, and she only just noticed now that her adrenaline wasn't so high.
Xena gasped at the blood "mind if I take a look at this?" She asked quietly. Adrianne had moved closer and was attempting to touch the Dragons Scales
Riverpaw watched her with cautious eyes, but lowered her head and flicked her ear-flaps, allowing the woman to help. She noticed the girl reaching for her, and she leaned away, a quiet growl rising in her throat as her crest rose a little.
"Adri! Dont touch!" She scolded, the child frowned before moving away you are beautiful she signed
The growling stopped, but turned into purring as she smiled softy at the compliment. She never thought she'd get one from a human, but a compliment was a compliment, she supposed. Then again, as far as she knew, the girl was only interested in the fur and scales and would have her mother make her some kind of clothing out of it once they killed Riverpaw.
Those were not the kind of thoughts she wanted, especially since they hadn't done anything yet, but the last time she'd trusted a human ended badly. She was willing to give these two the benefit of the doubt anyway.
"Adrian? Can you give me the basket, there are a few roots and berries I can use to make a quick ointment." She called. Adrianne nodded and walked over to the basket. She popped a few berries in her mouth a d savoured the sweetness before giving the rest to her mother and watched her make a paste then spread it over the wound. She put a small shred of fabric on it and tied it before walking back to the front. all done! she signed to both the dragon and her daughter.
Riverpaw leaned down and sniffed at the wrapping, then licked at it before looking up at the human. She couldn't help it; her tail swished along the grass, and she made a happy chittering sound. She didn't think she needed to sign to get the point across that she was thankful.
Xena smiled "well Riverpaw, I'm Xena and this is my daughter. You are welcome to come back with us to our hut, it's just over there." She vaguely gestured
Her tail stopped and she lowered her head. Sky wouldn't like that. But my leg… She glanced at her patched wound. It didn't seem too bad, but it felt worse than it looked, and she didn't want her sister to freak out or try to hunt down these two humans. She looked up at Xena and chirped. Then, her stomach growled, and she looked over at the harasnip tree - the reason she'd gotten trapped in that net in the first place.
Adrianne peeked up and she quickly climbed the tree. She gathered a few fruits a d slid down the trunk and piled the fruit into a small hill. here you go she signed happily and looked in her mother's basket for more berries
Riverpaw smiled again, her feathers fluffing a bit and her tail wagging in her happiness. She leaned down to the fruit and took one in her mouth, then held it with her paws as she bit into it. She made satisfied sounds, sounding like a combination of a bird and a cat.
can we keep her?! Adrianne signed excitedly. Xena smiled "hun, this is a creature of the forest. I'd someone took you away from me, you would be sad right? The same way, she has a family. After she gets better, we will let her go." She said, looking her in the eye. Adrianne pouted a d sat down infront of her.
Riverpaw rumbled lightly. She nudged one of the fruits from the pile with her nose and rolled it to Adrianne, then licked the juice from the fur around her mouth and waited, watching quietly.
Adrianne looked curiously at her mother before picking it up. She sniffed the fruit and poked uf before taking a small bite. Xena laughed lightly and sat down beside her, ruffling her hair.
Riverpaw chirped, then finished her fruit before grabbing another one. She ate most of the harasnips, leaving a few for the humans in case they wanted any, then cleaned her paws. She looked at Xena and Adrianne, then tilted her head little. How you know hand-language? She haphazardly signed.
Adrianne's smile dropped and she didnt look anyone in the eye. Xena sighed and looked at Riverpaw. "Simplest explanation is that she was injured and lost the a ility to talk. The village healer taught her how to speak using hand gestures and we moved after she learned.
Riverpaw looked at Adrianne, making a sad sound. She reached over and gently patted the girl's leg with a paw to get her attention. I'm sorry.
Adrianne smiled softly and pet her paw
Artemis looked at the rope in confusion “what is that”
Sol looked at the rope and pulled it with one of his claws
Vicky jumped forward and stood over the rope growling at Sol. "No touch!" she snapped. Looking much more fierce than before.
Adrianne smiled softly and pet her paw
Riverpaw moved her paw and patted Adrianne's head before setting it back down. She looked behind herself and lifted her rear, trying to stand on her leg again, but it still stung. She wasn't sure how long it would take to stop hurting, but it was an injury that reached under her scales, and those always took longer to heal.
(Are we all going to met or just do our own thing?)
(I think we should make an attempt to meet, that could be fun.)
(Because us talking to our own dragons isnt very climatic)
(Yeah, not really, so we should definitely get all our characters together.)
