Salaa titled her head. "What are you talking about?" Her hands lit up, shining patterns on the ceiling.
Salaa titled her head. "What are you talking about?" Her hands lit up, shining patterns on the ceiling.
"We might have somewhere you can go…. you're glowing," Tolkalee looked at her hands. Almost startled.
"Well, yeah," Salaa looked at him. "My hands can give off heat and light."
Tolkalee smiled. "That's a special gift you have there." He stood up again and motioned for her to follow. "Let me show you two something."
Salaa started to follow, but Amana pulled her back. "What are you doing?" She hissed.
Tolkalee stopped and looked at Amana. "I want to show you something, both of you," he explained calmly. "You don't have to trust me, just follow."
Amana scowled. Salaa grabbed her sister's hand and followed the elf.
He walked through the cabin to a carpet. He then turned towards the girls and knelt over the carpet. "What I'm about to show you is magical," he said looking at Salaa. Then he pulled the carpet away to reveal a trap door. He pulled it open and climbed down the ladder. Lifting one hand above the floor to motion for them to follow.
Salaa followed. Aidar grumbled. I'm bored. You're always bored, Salaa said.
Tolkalee stood at the bottom of the ladder and offered a hand to help them down. The room was dark, the only like coming from Tolkalee's crystal necklace.
Salaa lit her hands, letting the light shine around.
The light from her hands began reflecting off what looked like little glass shards in the walls. Tolkalee let his necklace glow brighter causing little colored lights to dance around the room. There were crystals in the walls reflecting the lights and causing the room to light up with color.
"Ooh! Pretty!" She looked at Tolkalee. "What are they?"
"They are little crystals, like this one," he crouched down to show her his necklace. "And if you shine light on them long enough," he covered Salaa's hands with his and let his crystal go out. The crystals in the walls continued to glow. "They keep glowing," he ended in a whisper.
Salaa's eyes widened. "Wow. That is so cool!" She let her hands glow brighter.
Tolkalee glanced up the ladder at Amana. "Would you like to come see?" He asked with a smile.
Amana scowled and shook her head. "No." Salaa looked at her pleadingly. "Please, Mana?"
"You don't have to," he shrugged. "I think you'd like it though."
Amana sighed. "Fine."
Salaa smiled happily at her. "Aren't they amazing, Mana?"
Tolkalee offered his hand to her as she climbed down.
Amana ignored the hand. Salaa sighed. "Come on, Mana, they're not trying to kill us."
Weak, Aran said. Everyone here is weak.
Seth had the fire going, and was toasting some bread. He poked his head over the door. "Food will be ready soon."
"Thanks!" Salaa said. She took her sister's hand and led her down. "Come look, Mana! They're so cool!" Amana sighed but followed.
Tolkalee smiled. "I'll leave the door open for when you're done." He climbed up the ladder to talk with Seth.
Salaa showed her sister around. As soon as the elf guy had left, Amana had become more welcoming.
