Founded in 1850, Alexander Powell's Boarding School for Magically Inclined Youth was created to help magically inclined children (grades K-12) gain control of their powers. The school was founded to both contain and grow new abilities in youth. Children in grades K-8 are kept in coed dorms, while grades 9 and up are kept in single-gender dorms, not split by grade level, on separate floors. Magic courses are provided to every student. Courses on controlling powers are provided to students from grade K-12, until they are not needed. From grades 6-12, students are provided with the option to learn an additional magic branch. This may not be changed or the rest of the year, but can be changed after the school year has concluded.

Other: For reason yet to be known she shares a soul with a creature. The creature appears to be a living shadow. Neither she nor the shadow can do magic on there own but when they 'fuse' together they have magical abilities including control of shadows, creating objects or beings out of shadows and being able to look into peoples dreams. This child's mental health is extremely unstable. She is prone to laughing fits and depressed periods.
