Kiki smiled to Lucario, but quickly waddled over to the group of other people.
“Dynamax dens?” she asked, her large eyes looking up at Evie. “Those sound really cool. Could I go?”
With her second question, she adverted her gaze to Sonia, almost as if silently asking for permission. Ari padded over, resting his giant head on the floor beside Kiki. She stroked his mane slightly, awaiting a response.
Lucario stood silently where he had been left, observing the group. Part of him was glad the child had left him alone, but the other part was rather intrigued by her. He decided to ignore the latter. What would Evie think if he suddenly took a liking to a child?
(Lucario: What would Evie think internal crisis
Evie: Fucking superb you funky little child)
Evie's eyes lit up. "Oh, they're super cool, I remember this one time–"
Sonia, who looked like she'd been slapped and didn't quite know what to make of it, cut her off. "Kiki, Dynamax dens are really dangerous."
"Yeah, but what if we battled while Kiki was watching from a safe distance?" Hop suggested. "If things turn sour, we can just book it like usual."
Sonia looked like she was about to have a stroke. "Hop–you–what–this is–" she sputtered, gesturing wildly with her hands. "She's six and just over three foot! There's no way she'd be able to get out of a dangerous situation fast enough!"
Hop shrugged. "Have you seen Ari run? He's fast; as long as she sticks with him, she'll be safe. If we get into a situation like that. You forget you're dealing with the Champion's rival."
"And a Gym Challenger that got an endorsement from Kabu!" Evie piped in. "That's really not easy to get, you know!"
Sonia shook her head and closed her eyes for a moment, massaging her temple as if she had a headache coming on. "You guys, this is a terrible idea," she muttered.
"And me! My best friend is rivals with the Alolan Champion, so don't think I was never trained by a professional," Logan chimed in, accompanied by a happy yip from Zoru. "Let's go! Off to the Wild Area!"
Kiki just looked excitedly between everyone, like a cat watching a ping-pong match. She bounced happily, her hair bouncing around her shoulders with her. She looked like Sonia had just agreed to give her a pony. All the odds were in her favor. Even if Sonia said no to the exploration, she doubted the Professor could actually stop them.
She bumbled around, climbing up onto her arcanine’s back, the fire dog lifting her up with his snout gently.
“I’ll be okay,” she said with a giggle. “Look at these powerful friends!”
"Yeah," Logan added. "Look at us powerful people! She'll be fine. Besides the Champion, we're like, the second, third and fourth best in the region." Zoru let out a small whine. "And our Pokemon are really strong too, of course! C'mon, Sonia, she'll learn more through firsthand experience!"
Evie exclaimed, "Yeah! Come on!" and was ready to run out.
"Wait!" Sonia shouted, prompting the excited Trainer to stop and turn around. "We were actually going to watch the opening ceremony, but we're not exactly packed yet. So why don't you lot stay here and wait while we do that, and we can go together." She sighed before going on. "We'll stop in the WIld Area and maybe–maybe–we'll go raid a Dynamax den. Sound good?"
"Yes!" Hop exclaimed, jumping a little bit. "Think we'll be able to camp out? The ceremony's not tomorrow, after all."
"Sounds awesome!" Evie said, pumping her fist. "The Wild Area's huge, but Lucario and I know it like the back of our hands. Practically grew up there, right?" she asked, throwing her friend a grin.
Logan let out a happy whoop. "Let's find a Dynamax den! And raid it! And catch the Pokemon!" Zoru howled triumphantly to accompany his Trainer. "And then we can watch the opening ceremony!" Logan was bouncing up and down on her toes not unlike an overexcited toddler.
Lucario nodded when he was mentioned. He was hatched in the wild area, after all. Of course he knew his way around.
(I love how much we're stressing Sonia out and we don't even care)
(Dude Sonia's hardcore reminded of the time Hop literally said "aight imma stick my head in the big red glowy laser hole BYE" and she's like "oh god he rubbed off on Kiki")
Kiki kept her continuous bouncing, growing even more excited with each passing phrase.
“Thanks, Sonnie!!” she said with a grin, giving Sonia’s leg a quick hug as she slid from the back of Ari. The Pokémon looked tired but vaguely excited as well.
figured Kiki would definitely give Sonia a nickname lol
(Aaaaa sorry! I couldn't reply at all during school today ^^")
Sonia gave Kiki a tired smile. "You have to be careful, though. If someone tells you to do something, listen, alright?"
Evie gasped as she had an idea. "Hey, Logan! Since we're both Trainers, why don't we battle while they're getting ready?" she asked. She was practically vibrating from excitement.
"Yeah!" Logan was bouncing up and down now, not even trying to hide her excitement.
Kiki mimicked Logan’s bouncing easily, a giant grin across her face.
“Could I watch? Could I watch?” she asked excitedly. “Please? You both have such cool buddies, I’d love to see!!”
(also just started playing sword this morning and it’s so much fun my goshhh. Just beat the first leader in 2 hits lol— I’d say I’m doing pretty well. You guys have any tips?)
(RIP Milo I guess lmao. Don't have any advice really?? Just uhh keep having fun? Glad you're enjoying it tho, and I apologize in advance for all the spoilers because there's gonna be more XD)
"I don't see why not," Sonia agreed. "Is there anything specific you wanted to bring? Since I'd be packing for you too," she added.
(Yeah I haven't finished the game lol. I have like, five or six badges though?)
Lucario looked up at the mention of a battle. He did enjoy battling, though he usually did so of his own accord. Evie didn't own him, after all, and he therefore didn't have to listen to her. She couldn't force him to do anything in battle.
(I did finish the game in like a week lol, my advice is try to battle all the trainers before u beat the game so when you're running around for side quests and stuff you don't have to go out of your way to avoid trainers)
(Sorry! I was crazy busy this weekend between hockey and a friend's birthday party lol)
Evie hopped in joy. "Awesome! Let's go, then!" she said, heading for the door. Despite being excited to the max, some part of her remembered that they were, in fact, in a lab and could damage important things if the battle got crazy. "We can battle out here! The street seems alright, right?"
Kiki bounded off after them, first asking Arcanine to politely get back in it’s ball. The Pokémon did so willingly, nuzzling Kiki as it’s spectral form retreated. She bounced out after Evie, looking just as excited, although she wasn’t even the one battling. Oh, but how she’d love it! She couldn’t wait until she learned, but Sonia didn’t seem too… supportive of the idea. With her having a massive Arcanine and all.
"Alright! Let's battle!" Logan sprinted out the door, laughing. Zoru and her Rotom Dex followed.
Evie pulled out a Pokeball and called out her Pokemon. "Luca, let's do it!" she shouted. A Drizzile appeared on the makeshift battlefield. He looked back at Evie and gave her a thumbs-up.
Kiki almost let out a squeal of excitement seeing the Drizzile. It had been a while since she had even seen a Sobble. Mostly, the pokémon she was accustomed to were the Wooloos and Sonia’s yamper. Which she loved with all her heart. Still, seeing cool pokémon was always a plus in Kiki’s book.
