Name: Oliver Morgans
Age: Nineteen
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bi
Shipping?: Open
Appearance: About 6"1', lean, but tone, with curly, unruly brown hair and brown eyes. He's heavily tattooed from his neck to his feet, and tan from his hours in the sun. He prefers not to wear a top when he's out of the eye of the public, but when he does wear one, it's usually a loose tank with the sides cut out. For bottoms, he alternates between loose shorts that hang past his knees and skinny jeans. When it comes to colder climates, he's a bit of a wuss and resorts to simple long sleeves, a hoodie and a jacket to pull over the hoodie. He can almost always be spotted wearing converse of varying colors. On the rare occasion he's not wearing them, he's in flip flops.
Personality: Despite what a lot of people view to be an intimidating exterior, he's quite a personable and friendly human being. He's easy to talk to, even if he can be a little awkward from time to time. He radiates confidence nine times out of ten, and he's instinctively protective over people and pokemon that he cares for. He trusts easily—too easily, some would say, and he's terrible at discerning a person's motives. Some would go so far as to say he's naive and gullible.
Pokemon: Houndoom, Braviary, Bisharp, Rapidash
Backstory(optional): Oli grew up with his single father, his mother having passed away shortly after he was born to cancer. His father was a bit of a social outcast, but the two of them got along well enough most of the time, and they never struggled financially because of the Pokemon Rescue Center his dad ran. Of course, when Oliver became a teen they tended to butt heads, but that's normal for two people with strong personalities. School was tough for Oli more often than not. Since he was a bit of a late bloomer in terms of height, he was a much shorter and scrawnier version of himself that left him vulnerable to bullies. His team at the time, Houndour and Rufflet, wanted to help with the bullies, but Oli kept them at bay out of worry they would hurt them, or worse, be hurt by enemy pokemon. Nothing too intense ever occured, but his self esteem was never the best and he was tired of people picking on him for being "weak". He confided in his dad, who did his best to encourage him, but not much could be done since there was no physical proof. When Oli turned sixteen, his father took him to the nearest tattoo parlor at his request. Seeing how his father was decked out in tattoos and how people were intimidated because of it, Oliver decided he wanted them, too. Over the course of the next three years he kept adding to his collection, and he now has trouble finding new space for them. After graduating school he officially left on a pokemon journey, and he became an official ace trainer at seventeen years old after defeating every gym leader (or kahuna, depending on region). He wants to someday challenge the league, but for now he's content with training and offering advice to newer trainers.
Other: Houndoom has been with him ever since he was five, back when the pokemon was a Houndour. Braviary has been his pokemon since he was eleven, Bisharp since he was fifteen and Rapidash since he was eighteen. Oli prefers battling with dark and fire types, but he holds a special kind of love for every type of pokemon.
Does this work? I can change age and stuff if you wanted to have our characters be younger trainers starting their journey, but personally I feel like that's a tad overdone. And let me know if I went overboard with him lol
Also, my favorite region is Kalos, although I'm starting to get pretty familiar with the Galar region and I know my way around Alola. I only started playing in gen 6 (X & Y, if I recall correctly), so unfortunately I'm not familiar with many of the regions before then. I could probably fudge my way through a Kanto based roleplay, though, since I've watched the anime so much.
