"Technically, I've almost died a countless number of times on quests for them."
“And I don’t really care if I get in trouble. You can stay here with Sammy.” Lydia lied. She did care, but was in an odd, impulsive mood.
"If you and your brother share the same charming qualities, I'm sure it'll be fine."
Lydia raised an eyebrow. “Why don’t we get a head start, scope out the place?”
Ophelia stood slowly. "Ready when you are."
Lydia stepped off the dining pavilion, leading the way to the Big House. “I have a Bobby pin, you got anything better?”
Trent sighed and looked at Sammy. “Does she just ignore you too?”
Sam nodded. “She’s stubborn.”
She reached into the pocket of her leather jacket, pulling out a small lock picking set as she followed. "I've got something more professional. What song?"
“Shoot.” Lydia spun back around, yelling, “What song?”
“I noticed.” Trent sighed. “Well, what do you want to do while the girls go rule-breaking?”
He glared up at Lydia. “I’m not helping you with this in any way! I don’t condone your actions!”
"Coward." Ophelia deadpanned, picking through the set.
“Fine!” Lydia called. She turned to Ophelia. “No idea, what do you think?”
“Hmmmm….. Lydia’s shown you the beach, I presume?” Sam replied to Trent.
Trenton nodded. “You wish to go there?”
“She’s forgotten her sword there.” Sam said.
"I'm not sure. You've known him longer than I."
“Of course she did, let’s go get it.” Trent stood up and stretched.
“I’ve known him since breakfast.” Lydia smirked.
Sam stood up.
"Still, longer. Think of a few you've heard or like. We can work from there."
“He said country?”
"Yes." Ophelia put away the kit after pulling a couple items out, looking over at Lydia.
“Lead the way.” Trent smiled at Sam. He had forgotten how small the boy was until he stood up.
“Jeez, I haven’t listened to the radio in forever. You know anything?” Lydia said, snickering as she thought of a joke she wasn’t going to tell.
Sam began walking, talking as he went. Finally, a few feet from the beach, he stopped the loud, excited speaking. He took a breath and said, “Oh my gods, I don’t know how you can stand to be around me.”
"I know some Luke Bryan. Does Johnny Cash count as country?"
“Probably.” Lydia said, adding, “We could always play ‘Country Roads’.”
