Jack held up a cautionary hand. "Guys, slow down." he said. "You can't just go rushing in, you'll get…" he let out a breath. He had almost said "killed", which obviously didn't apply here, and why had he almost slipped back into that sort of language? He shook his head quickly, pushing that away. "You'll get hurt."
Archer puffed out his cheeks, letting out a breath. "You're probably right. I'm just so excited, and I guess I got a bit carried away," he admitted, somewhat sheepish. "How long do you think we should wait? Because I'm ready whenever." It had been a while since Archer actually had something to look forward to, so this whole idea made him more excited than he had been in a long time.
"We could go after dinner?" Maddie suggested with a shrug. "Or maybe after Miss Dove puts us to bed. That would give us a little bit of time before everything resets." She started to slowly walk back to the house.
Archer hurried after her. "That works, because she probably won't notice we're gone if we go after she puts us all to bed," he agreed. He was a bit annoyed that they still had a bedtime, considering he was over a hundred years old now.
