She sighed as she laid down on the bed and closed her eyes. "I might as well take a little nap. To make up for not sleeping much last night." She said sleepily. It wasn't long enough before she fell asleep and her Magica-infested nightmares started once again. From the first night, she knew it was Magica, and not someone she had created. The voice was so painfully clear. And once in a while, she swore she could see her in her dreams.
Scarlett quietly stayed at the table, waiting for Lily to finish her breakfast. She wanted to spend some time with her sister. Actually, she wanted the three of them to spend some time together since lately, Quinn had been in her own little world. She knew Lily hadn't noticed, which made total sense to her, seeing as she was the one who grew up with Quinn years ago, and knew her more than any other person.
Once Lily finished, she stood up. “This was great, Dad…thanks…” she smiled sadly before leading Scarlett out of the kitchen. Alex nodded, smiling. “No problem, just make sure to check on Quinn soon…” he told them. Lily nodded as she continued walking. “We will!”
"So what now?" Scarlett asked her. "Should we try to cheer up Quinn?" Despite Scarlett saying that Quinn needed time, and to leave her alone, Scarlett rarely ever took her own advice seriously. So, she was eager to bring Quinn out of her grumpy mood before it worsened. "I'm really worried about her and I just don't want to leave her like that."
Lily looked at Scarlett. “Of course! She’s family!” she smiled softly, leading Scarlett to the room Quinn was in. She took a deep breath before knocking on the door. “Quinn? It’s Lily…can we come in?”
Quinn didn't respond. She was too busy fighting the demon that had plagued her dreams. The girl was sort of a heavy sleeper. Sometimes, she wasn't. It was really weird to both Quinn and Scarlett. Scarlett gently tapped her feet on the ground, waiting for a response. When they didn't get any, she sighed and put her head against the door. "Quinn, open up the door….please," Scarlett begged. Again, nothing. Frustrated, she opened the door to their bedroom, finding Quinn asleep, mumbling the words "I'm not like you".
Lily froze and looked back at Scarlett. Quinn was talking about Magica…right? She didn’t know because she only knew certain things about the sorceress. Lily got closer to her sister as her hands shook.
She let out a painful scream as her eyes opened. She panted as she looked at her sister, surrounding her. She tried to take a deep breath to calm herself down but immediately failed. As she continued mumbling things to herself, she looked at Scarlett and Lily with fearful eyes.
Lily immediately sat in front of Quinn, putting her hand on her sister’s back. “Hey…hey, it’s okay…we’re here…we’ve got you,” she whispered as she made room for Scarlett to sit next to her.
"Lily….it was horrible. She was there, and she kept telling me hurtful things," Quinn sobbed as she put her knees to her chest. She closed her eyes and continued crying. "I'm not sure why I keep denying it. She's right. She's always been right."
Lily rubbed her sister’s back. “What exactly did she say?” she asked, quietly as she pulled Quinn into a hug.
"That I'm not actually good. That I'm living in a reality that's fake," She whispered. "And that she should've killed me when she had the chance." She stopped and looked at Lily. "What if she's right? And what if I've been lying to myself all the time?"
Lily pulled her closer. “What she’s saying isn’t true…you are one of the nicest people I know and I know some pretty nice people,” she laughed a little, running her fingers through Quinn’s hair. “Whatever she says, trust me when I say she’s wrong…”
"T-That's only because you managed to bring yourself into my life. You should've seen me years ago. I was…..well not exactly how I am now." She sighed and wiped her tears. "I'm just tired. Tired of her. Tired of fighting. Tired of the energy inside me."
Lily pulled her closer as she tried to fight back tears herself. “Please…please don’t ever stop fighting…we all love you too much for you to give up now…” she choked out.
(we all know what happens next)
Quinn nodded as tears continued to fall down, no matter how hard she tried to push them away. "I-I…know…." Scarlett held Quinn's hand as she made small circles on it. It usually helped Quinn calm down in situations like these. Quinn smiled at Scarlett and Lily sadly. "T…thank you.."
“No problem,” Lily smiled, hugging Quinn tightly. “Come on…let’s head back,” she whispered.
Quinn only nodded as she watched Scarlett get up and leave the room. After a couple of seconds, she returned back inside and got a load of paper from their desk, and then left once again. Quinn tilted her head in confusion as she turned to look at Lily. "What do you think she's going to do?"
Lily shrugged. “No clue…” she sighed as she leaned against Quinn. “Judging by the paper, maybe she wants us to draw or something?” she suggested.
"Hm, maybe," Quinn replied as she smiled up at Lily. She was glad she had supporting siblings like Lily and Scarlett. "We should go check it out either way. Before she returns and drags us herself" Quinn said with a small laugh. Carefully, she got out of the bed and went to see what her little sister was up too.
Lily nodded, following. “Yeah, I don’t wanna get dragged…” she laughed as she left the room. “Scarlett, what are you doing?”
Scarlett looked up from the paper she was currently playing with. "Oh, nothing much. Just drawing and trying to create a paper crane. Speaking of drawing, would you guys join me?" She smiled at them and giggled. "It'll help us forget….everything bad that's happened to us." Quinn shrugged as she sat down beside her sister. "Yeah, sure. I don't see why not."
Lily smiled. “Sure, that’s a good idea,” she nodded as she joined her sisters, grabbing a piece of paper and some art supplies.
Quin grabbed some paper and some markers. As he started drawing all her fears went away. She wasn't sure what she was drawing, but she just let her hands do all the work. After a couple of minutes, she looked down and realized what she had drawn. It was a picture of Magica. She groaned as she hit her head on the table and tried hiding the paper before her sisters saw it.
Lily was drawing a landscape picture of Duckburg. She was humming a tune as she drew and smiled when she finished. “There!”
She looked up when Lily exclaimed "There!" and looked at her drawing. In all honesty, it was much better than what she had drawn. "Lily, that's really pretty." She said with a slight smile as she crumpled her drawing and grabbed a new piece of paper to start a new drawing on.
