"Huh? Oh, yeah, sure." Alex responded with a smile. He then remembered something. "Oh, crap. I forgot that I was supposed to help Aaron get a gift for Lee. Something about wanting to reward him for putting up with him for so long. Hope he's not mad for making him wait," Alex said with a small laugh.
John was lost in a memory of Lee abusing him but quickly pulled out of it, "S-Sure thing! So what's the plan?"
"Don't know. Aaron said he would tell me more about it when we were on our way to the mall. I guess he doesn't want to tell me, in case I decide to tell Lee or something. Surprised he asked me, and not someone else, like…Madison or Theodosia."
"Ok….. I don't really feel like spinning around. May we go?", John said just wanting to get the worst over with.
"Oh, okay," Alex said as he got out of line and walked back to the car. What he thought was going to be a fun day turned out to be quite horrible really. He got inside and waited for John to enter the car. Once he did, he started the car and started driving to Lee's house.
John fidgeted until they got there. He kissed Alex and hopped out of the car, "I'll walk home…Bye, Love you."
"I-I love you too, John." He sighed, put his head on the wheel, and stayed like that for a few moments, before starting to drive to Aaron's house. When he arrived, he knocked on the door and the door suddenly opened. "Finally! It's been over two hours, Alex." He laughed and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, I know. I kinda forgot about the whole thing." Aaron sighed and exited the house. He entered Alex's car and took his phone. "I called James to take me to the mall since you didn't appear, but I'll just send him a text to tell him to meet us at the mall." He said while quickly typing and sending the text. Moments later, his phone dinged, and he looked at Alex who was now driving the car. "Whatever, as long as he doesn't bother me, It will be fine," Alex mumbled.
Laurens quietly opened the door and closed it. He softly said, "Lee?" He didn't hear anything so he took a sigh of relief and went to exit before he heard an 'ahem'. Lee was standing there, he was taller than Laurens, and he had a smirk, "Really John….you expect by now that you would've learned not to disobey me." John looked up at him scared, "I-I didn't…I just thought you w-weren't here." Lee scowled and knocked him onto the floor and Lauens just stayed down.

It wasn't long before Alex reached the mall. He quickly found a parking spot and Aaron and Alex walked up to the entrance, where James was leaning against the wall while doing something on his phone. He looked up and smiled when he saw Aaron, but frowned a bit when he saw Alex. "Madison," Alex growled. "Hamilton," James responded, coldly. Aaron sighed and looked at both men. "Could you try to get along? For the sake of the world?" Neither man said anything but just nodded. Alex sighed and walked through the mall. "So what are you going to get him?" Aaron shrugged. "Not sure. Just want to give him something for putting up with me. And for being the nicest person." "Are we talking about the same Charles Lee here? He's anything but nice." "Nah, he's a sweetie. You just see the façade he puts up."

Laurens started walking home. He had bruised starting to form all over and marks on his neck. He was in pain as he reached home.
The three took a while to help Aaron buy a gift for Charles. It took a couple of hours until Aaron settled on a nice gift for him. Madison was picked up by Hercules and Lafayette while Alex brought Aaron back to his house. "Never ever, ever bring me shopping with you," He said to Aaron before leaving. He turned on the radio as he drove back home.
Once John got inside he took his shirt off and got an ice pack. He laid on the couch and put it on the area where his ribs where. John winced as he put it on there and notice the purple color and swelling. He sighed and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Alex turned off the radio and parked the car. He exited and walked to the door of the house as he checked his pockets for his keys. After a bit of looking, he took them out and unlocked the door. As he entered, he saw John lying on the couch. At first, he didn't notice the bruises, but as he started passing him, he noticed him. The moment I see Lee, I'm going to murder him, Alex thought as he sat down on a chair.
John started to wake up and sat up. The ice pack slid down and he let out a yelp. He took it off and then noticed Alex and swore silently for being so careless. He smiled, "I…uh… fell down the stairs?" John knew the excuse wouldn't work.
"The stairs? John, darling. Don't think I don't know what happened. Lee hurt you. It has to be him because I left you at his house. What I want to know is why he did this to you. And also, the way I'm going to murder him," He said with a low growl.
John went to get up even with the pain and sat down on Alex's lap, "Please Alex…. Don't. I can't lose you." John buried his head into Alex's chest.
Alexander sighed and placed a kiss on John's head. "Sweetheart, you're more important to me than me. That bastard has to pay for what he did to you. I'm not just going to let this go when he hurt you."
John looked at Alex, "Just please don't leave me alone right now. Please." John didn't want Alex to get hurt or to leave him. His anxiety was growing.
Alex sighed and gave him a kiss on the lips. "I wouldn't dare to leave you at a moment like this. I promise you, John. We're in this together, okay?"
John nodded his head and snuggled closer, "I love you."
Alex smiled and stroked John's hair. "I love you too. Never forget that."
