Elena closed her door behind her, then turned to Valentina. "What's up?"
Elena closed her door behind her, then turned to Valentina. "What's up?"
Arturo smiled at her. "A couple of the cousins are headed down to the market in town, if you wanna come with." He could see Valentina and Elena heading back towards them.
"Sure! that sounds fun. How long do we plan to be out?"
Arturo shrugged. "As long as it takes, I guess. Shouldn't be too long. Why, got plans?"
"Uhm.. what? What plans would i have?" She asked, shrugging. "Just wondering"
Elena caught up with Arturo and Atun, only slightly out of breath. "So what are we doing?"
"Going to a market, apparently." Atun said, shrugging
"Sounds fun!" Elena grinned. "Who else is coming?"
Arturo smiled at them both. "Valentina was rounding up whichever cousins were left around the house. Everybody seemed to be out and about. I'm just waiting on Valentina to head back this way, and then we'll go."
Diego sighed as he landed, settling next to some shopkeepers
Valentina skipped back over to the group, a wide smile on her lips. "I couldn't find anyone else, so I guess it'll just be us. Shall we go?" She twirled across the floor and grabbed Elena's wrist to pull her out Castia's door excitedly. "Come on!"
Elena grinned. "Okay, okay, I'm coming!" She laughed as the tiles on Casita's porch moved, sliding her forward even faster.
Atuñ followed, a bit nervous. because she had Vitiligo, she was a lot lighter skinned then most of the family, so she almost never went out.
Arturo let the girls cavort ahead, staying back with Atun, who seemed nervous. He walked with her, an easy smile on his face, steady and stable as stone.
"I love looking out over the valley when the sun is shining. It's so gorgeous."
Diego walked around the shops, buying a few things with his allowance as he walked past
atuñ walked around, looking at a necklace. she picked it up, but dropped it as a kid threw a ball of mud at her. the necklace was in the mud, her face was covered with mud, and she was finding it hard to control her gift. as the light seeped from her skin, a large ball of light was forming. Atuñ focused hard on making it go away, returning to her skin. she picked up the necklace, paid for it and apologized to the vendor, and ran back towards the casita.
Diego had seen, stopping her in her tracks “hey hey hey, ãtun slow down.”
"I.." Atuñ looked uncomfortable. "I'll just slow you guys down. I'll just head back, its okay. I can wait for Tià Mirabèl there."
“ it's okay.. I'm not with them so I don't mind the slow pace.”
Arturo had tried to stay with Atun, but she hadn't seemed to want the company and had taken off on her own. So he'd stayed with Valentina and Elena. He thought he'd glimpsed Diego and Atun off down a side street, but again, they didn't seem to want company, so he'd minded his own business.
Elena was looking at a cream-colored shirt she liked, but she couldn't decide between that or a small wooden carving of a tiger that would look nice as a glass figure.
Atuñ smiled Diego, but shook her head. "I'll just cause you trouble. You have fun, i'll head back."
“Then I'll head back with you.. Got nothing else to do..”
"are you sure? i dont want you to miss out because of me.." She bit her lip.
Elena decided to buy the wood tiger- She could get a shirt any day, but the carving was unique.
