Okay, a random question (or questions) to anyone…
I know how to play/create characters and whatnot in D&D. So how do I find people that want to play with me? (Keep in mind that I know only a few people interested, and I don't think that I am fit for the DM role.)

@PuffPoff

That's a really good question that I've been trying to answer myself for the past two months.

Try looking around your community. Is there a comic/gaming store nearby? You could pay a visit and ask if any D&D parties meet there or if they know any parties. If not, there are plenty of Discord servers and other online chats that you could find. Maybe put yourself out there on Reddit?

someone in a game rolled a crit 1 while trying to attack a goblin and chopped his leg off. we were playing at like 2 am. you can imagine how the player reacted lol

I was recently playing through a (now defunct) Curse of Strahd campaign, and we were staying at the inn in Vallaki. I, the Half-Orc Bard-barian, along with the Dragonborn Paladin and the Goblin Warlock decide to retire for the night. The Githyanki Artificer and the Gnome Druid, however, decide to do some snooping. They end up stealthing into the kids' room, the INN OWNER'S KIDS room, and find a secret door in the ceiling. The Druid ends up making it up to the door and into the attic, but the Artificer fails his Dex check.

He falls with a NAT GODDAMN 1 and creates such a racket that the whole inn is now awake. I wake up in a frenzy, grabbing my Battle Bass, but the Paladin has a miniature PTSD attack and punches a hole through the wall in some sort of panicked seizure. The Druid, thinking quickly, turns the Artificer invisible. However, he was wearing chainmail armor, so as he scoots into a corner to hide, the kids suddenly start screaming thinking that they're haunted by the D&D equivalent of Jacob Marley's Ghost.

The owner comes in to comfort her kids, the Paladin flies over to check out the situation, and I post up outside our bedroom. The Paladin assures the inn owner that everything will be alright as she takes her kids out, he gives the Artificer and Druid an earful, and then tosses the Druid over the banister and across the opening leading to the first floor. I catch her, the others walk back, and then we make the Artificer use a Mending spell to patch up the hole in the wall. They then got another earful from me in the morning.

DM warns us there's a few really hard encounters and that's he's kinda worried about surviving whichever we find. We found both. At the same time. Becauuuuse we split the party.
So we ended early to plan and I planned a new character. I found a plan for getting our rogue out of our encounter, but its likely I won't. He'll use all his actions to ungrapple and escape, and I (bard) will use all the inspiration and buffs I can before shattering the doorway. If I get out it depends on how many actions I use to buff and if I roll high on initiative. On one hand, it sucks that my char is prob going to die but on the other our rogue has worked so hard and has done so much with his character development. The other encounter (with I suspect to be the BBEG) has a slim chance of talking out of, so our Paladin needs to roll high and our Barbarian needs to be very quiet. I guess I'll find out how this mess goes on Sunday… Hopefully I can get one last good viscous mockery in.

I had two characters (a ranger/sorcerer guy and a bard/druid girl) and my sister had one. (a rogue) We went into the boss room and there were 14 fallen ones. (8 archers, 4 spearmen, and 2 shamen) Everything's going fine and my guy decides to cast charm on one of the archers. He succeeds. Halfway through the fight, my girl tries to throw three daggers at one of the shamen. The last dagger gets a nat 1…then a 17. She ends up accidentally killing the archer that we charmed. But that's ok. I didn't give him a name yet, and there's still 4 left. So my guy charms another one. By the time we kill the shamen, there's one archer left (not counting the one we charmed) and he's running around panicking. My guy tries to hit him but rolls a three and accidentally hits himself in the leg. (lightly) My girl feels bad for the poor thing and tries to charm him too. She rolled a one. This thing HATES her. It's no longer panicking and is in a firey rage. The rogue manages to smack him over the head and that's that. Now we have one Dark One/Fairy fighter traveling with us named Barkley. He loves my sorcerer so much! You should have seen his face when my guy gave him that Ring of Protection. (My point here is he's adorable.)
