Jax and Peregrine are the most different people ever. They'd both try their hardest, but they'd also fight over who gets control of the project.
Echo and Teigi wouldn't be much better, considering that Teigi's a pirate and Echo is a Marine. Echo would try to keep her cool, but escalate the situation into a fight.
Azami and Raiah are both idiots who are basically different aspects of me, but Raiah would try and get things done while Azami would sit to the side.
Tori and Aiko would be a chaotic pair, with Aiko constantly fooling around and Tori trying to keep her in control.
Something explodes in every scenario.

(I switched around two of the characters because reasons)
D'artagnan and Kineta: Dar would feel like he was in a kitchen, so he'd be relatively comfortable and even enjoying himself. Kineta would probably feel a bit klutzy and ignorant, and would lean on Dar to handle all the breakable stuff. Overall though, they'd have fun ^^
Melanie and Dean: Melanie would be too busy keeping Dean from breaking things or setting them on fire to actually learn anything herself.
Vali and Marco: Oh jeez, Marco is a scientist who illegally studies magic and Vali's a magical being. They would be very…unfriendly with each other lol
Mike and Bernon: Mike: Just trying to get through the instructions/lesson. Bernon: Using this as an excuse to chat, be friendly, make stupid puns, and theorize about the inner workings of the universe.
Luke and Nina: Having a great time, doing each step together, trying to work out why exactly they got each result, learning a lot and generally being a cute couple.
Boar-back and Brandon: Too many mature jokes about biology and horrible science-themed pick-up lines to record here ^^; Brandon would also definitely use his background in medicine as a way to act superior and bossy, then get frustrated when Boar-back continues to basically ignore him XD

1) What do you get when you put a theatre student and a law school dropout in a lab, fully unsupervised? A mess. You get a mess. Geneva cares nothing for lab safety, she's got no goggles on and is like…leaning over the test tubes. Jackson has no idea what he's doing, and has no idea what any of the chemicals are. These are grown adults someone please help them-
2) Victor is a chemist, so he definitely takes charge. This is his element. He makes sure that Henry has on gloves, goggles, and stays far-ish away from the setup. Is it over-the-top and paranoid? Yes, but he's seen firsthand what lab mistakes can do. Henry understands, but is still a bit annoyed, since he feels like he's not being allowed to help.
3) We're gonna ignore the fact that they're from different universes- We've got a philosophy student and a mapmaker, kids. Aristotle meticulously reads through the instructions multiple times, annoying Beck deeply, and then arranges everything so that it's easy to grab. Beck just sort of stops and starts doing his own thing halfway through.
4) Alessandra takes charge, much to Percy's chagrin, and tries to stop him from doing anything more than handing her the different ingredients. Percy eventually gets fed up and gets her to let him help, and Alessandra hovers over his shoulder the whole time. He snaps and tells her to just let him do it on his own, and she does. He then proceeds to spill a vial on his hand.
5) Oscar does all the work, with Douglas sprawling himself on a chair to watch and talk. Oscar is very annoyed, but knows it's probably best to keep Douglas as far from potentially dangerous materials as possible

Ramona and Max: They'd be too distracted fighting/flirting to do science. The lab would explode.
Damien and Cassandra: Damien would not want to work with Cassandra, so he would kick her out and do it himself. Walking out, she would break glass on purpose.
Mysteise and Felix: Felix tries to mix chemicals but it doesn't work and he gets sad, so Mysteise has to tell him it's ok.
Prince Todd and Duchess Luella: They can't do anything. Definitely another explosion.
Artemis and Andros: Also fighting/firting, but more bitter than Ramona and Max. No explosions though because Artemis doesn't let that happen… Perks of being a literal goddess xD

Dimitri and Kenna: Dimitri would do all the work and Kenna would occasionally take notes but mostly play with whatever matches she could find and try to blow anything and everything she could up. She's extremely unhelpful and constantly gets them in trouble with the teacher by yelling stuff like "how the FUCK WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW YOU CAN'T FUCKING MIX THEM TOGETHER?!" and other variety of swear words. They would be the "class clowns" and constantly laughing both at each other and with each other. Dimitri just lets Kenna do whatever she wants because he thinks it's insanely funny, but he'll end up bickering about their low grade.

Eira and Will: They would fight the entire time and get nothing done. Will has no idea what he's doing ever, in any circumstance, and definitely not in science and Eira has no interest in helping him get a good grade, even if it affects hers as well. She constantly brings up the way Will left her alone to die when she was seven whenever Will would ask for help, which would make Will begin profousley apologize and Eira would laugh at him. It would be a nightmare.

Acyn and Caspian: They would work well together but often get distracted by talking about their own relationship and date plans. Caspian would try to impress Acyn at every chance he got but would just end up looking stupid or getting hurt, which would make Acyn laugh and help put bandaids on his cut hands.

Anahid and Tanith: It would be a constant "well can you do THIS" kind of partnership as they both try to prove they're better than the other at literally everything. They're both extremely competitive and would get almost nothing done or do the whole project completely wrong because they're too wrapped up trying to one-up the other.

Gaia and Astreria: The only pairing that would actually get done fast and get a good grade. They would finish the project with a few words to each other and then once it was done they would spend the rest of the time talking quietly to each other. Gaia would help others who need it but Asteria would tell them to fuck off.

Keres and Verena: Verena would try to be in charge but Keres would just ignore her and do her own thing. Verena would get so wrapped up in trying to be the boss she wouldn't do anything but try to get Keres to listen to her, and Keres would end up doing the entire project on her own, and get a good grade without doing anything Verena told her to.

1/2. Maeng and Seokju: Maeng purposefully did not pay attention while being told what to do. Seokju gives up trying to explain it to Maeng and ends up having an existential crisis for five minutes. They end up creating glitter bombs wrecking havoc on the others with them.

3/4. Adrian and Orion: Orion was forced to do this so he's kind of worried plus he hates fire and anything sharp. Adrian ends up doing the whole thing while Orion is complimenting him every second. Next thing you know, Adrian starts to compliment Orion too. Then it becomes a challenge to see who can flatter the other person the most.

5/6. Kangmin and Jack: Out of all the pairs, these two actually complete the lab without any harm. Jack reads out the instructions while Kangmin does the stuff. They switch places after a certain amount of steps. Every now and then, they look up to see what everyone else is doing: creating absolute chaos. Kangmin decides to hide under the lab table and color while Jack takes a nap.

7/8. Minwoo and Sebastian: To make the process of the lab more fun, Sebastian puts on Girls Generation songs. Minwoo refuses to dance with Sebastian while they do the lab, yet gives in when Gee comes on. A small fire starts but they didn't realize it. Hyungwon went over and set it out then threw water on the two before leaving. Sebastian and Minwoo just keep vibing despite it all.

9/10. Matthew and Basil: Matthew put on sunglasses claiming that it was "safe". Basil wore a whole Shrek mask because, well actually he didn't tell anyone why. Together, they tell each other terrible science jokes while doing the lab. "What did the cell say to his sister after stubbing his toe?" (Basil tries to not die from laughter) "What?" "Ow, mitosis!"

11/12. Jaesung and Chansung: They start the lab, everything is surprisingly going well for the next couple of minutes. Next thing you know, they're fighting over who's more "baby". Surprise, Chansung points out that being ripped doesn't make you more baby so he ends up winning the debate. Jaesung still admits that he does radiate "baby" energy, but ignores it and pinches Chansung's cheek. The two forgot what they were doing so they ended up discovering a new star.

13/14. Hyungwon and Haeil: Hyungwon and Haeil picked the table in the far corner so no one could bother them. They did not do the lab at all; just watching everything else that was happening while talking about taking down the patriarchy and ruling the world.

your even numbered characters are each individually crying in the bathroom. the odd numbered character after walks in on them (so 12/1, 2/3, 4/5, 6/7, 8/9, 10/11). what happens?

12/1 Aariss gets super mad and offers to murder who ever hurt her. She grabs Wisp and goes around pointing to people. "Was it him? What about him?"
2/3 Sam is Sora's brother, so he'd bring her home, even if they were at school and he has to skip class, then he'd make her tea and give her a book and let their mom talk to her.
4/5 Chenelle would ignore Viva entirely and go find another place to skip class.
6/7 Ivan has definitely cried in the bathroom before but he feels awkward about being there. He doesn't know Zephyr to well so he'll just try to say something cheerful. He's so socially awkward he'd probably just leave after that, but he wouldn't tell a soul because he doesn't want to embarrass Zephyr.
8/9 Columbine has probably never seen Jenna cry before, she'd go full on therapist mode, but Jenna would try to act like she wasn't crying. "IT'S JUST EYE SWEAT."
10/11 Xavier skips school (or whatever her was doing) and takes Zach to a movie, definitely a comedy. He'd cheer him up with bad jokes and popcorn.

Edit: OKAY apparently I can't read and got the even and odd characters mixed up. Oh well, there's no time to change it now -_-
12/1: Very in-character for Dar to sit in the bathroom crying over something lol TvT Brandon is not good at comforting people and would be less-than-sympathetic: "Excuse me, kid, I need to use this bathroom for its intended purpose, do you mind having a breakdown somewhere else?"
2/3: An honestly very wholesome interaction. This has probably actually happened at least once, since Kineta and Melanie are rent-mates and Melanie often forgets that now that she's no longer living with her parents, people tend to notice when she's upset. Kineta would be the big sister she's always wanted and help her realize that her problems are manageable without making her feel bad for showing weakness ^^
4/5: The day Vali hides in the bathroom crying is a weird day indeed. I think this must be after his redemption arc, he cries a lot at that point. If Dean found him, she'd feel supremely embarrassed and have no idea what to say, but they at least shared some adventures together in the past and experienced similar character-growth pains, so she'd kind of understand what he was going through and try to awkwardly talk him through it.
6/7: Mike crying in the bathroom, huh? Something really major must have happened. Only Bernon would be welcome company in this situation–anyone else would be met with aggression or even violence. Marco, being a cautious, sharp-eyed, intelligent man, would take one look at Mike and quickly walk back out.
8/9: Luke, like Mike, doesn't really like company when he's crying. The worst he'd do is snap at you or storm off, though. Bernon, being a pure bean, would immediately try to talk to Luke and ask if he's okay, and he'd be more persistent and patient because he's used to dealing with Mike, but he'd probably be ignored. There's a small chance that he'd remind Luke of Nina and win some tolerance that way, but he'd have to say just the right words to avoid getting rejected.
10/11: Nina, seeing Boar-back with tears running down his face: gasp Oh no, what's wrong? Are you okay? That Brandon guy said something horrible to you, didn't he? He thinks that just because you don't get mad, he can say whatever he wants, but sometimes he goes too far! Don't worry, I'll stay with you until you feel better, and then we can go together and talk to Brandon about this so he sees that he hurt you. I'm Nina, by the way, I don't think we've ever really met but I've heard great things about you and I know Brandon from the doctor's lounge and really, that man–"
Boar-back, gazing wordlessly down at her: * Doesn't know how to explain that he wasn't crying, he legitimately just got something in his eye and was trying to rinse it out*

8/1: Aiko, being an immature person who's really sweet, can't comfort a child so she nopes right out. Jax, meanwhile is crying because something happened to her captain.
2/7: Peregrine just sits there, basically dumbfounded because she grew up learning that adults were tough and didn't really cry. Tori's probably sad about something bad happening to her friends.
3/6 Raiah tries to talk to Echo, she's not good at much else when it comes to socializing. Echo shoos her away, and Raiah takes that opportunity to awkwardly step out.
4/5 Teigi doesn't care how awkward it is, he'll sing and calm Azami down enough so she can talk to him. He's essentially a therapist to his crew, and he'll offer his services for free if anybody needs it.

12/1: Bruiser is crying in the bathroom because Aid took away her shiny trinket as a punishment for eating all of the party's leftover rations. Howl doesn't know Bruiser very well, but still tries to cheer her up using cheap tricks like corny jokes. Bruiser perks up just to tell Howl that she sucks at comforting people. Bruiser gets up and walks away, while Howl is left sulking in the bathroom.
2/3: Belsan was walking past the door to the bathroom before stopping in his tracks at the sound of Nova sobbing. He enters the bathroom cautiously, and sits beside his older sister. He asks her what's wrong, but gets no response other than a small shake of her head, her fiery hair crackling at the movement. He opens his arms, and Nova crawls into his embrace. He stays there, holding onto her for as long as she needs him to hold her. After a while, she manages to calm down enough to make Belsan promise he'd never say anything about seeing her in the state she's in. He agrees, and adds on that she's not alone. Whatever challenge she's facing, she doesn't have to go through it alone.
4/5: Madhead, wanting to use the bathroom and not checking to see if it was occupied, runs into Rush curled up on the floor. She forgot to lock the door. Madhead doesn't know what to do, so he runs off to find Belsan. When he returns with Rush's boyfriend in tow, she's disappeared from the bathroom. She's reappeared in the kitchen, raiding the fridge for anything that'll satisfy her. Periods suck, even for a kickass Half-Orc Barbarian.
6/7: Kelli finds Ronald pouting in the bathroom. Howl distracted him while Nova robbed him blind. She leaves and comes back, dragging Nova and Howl with her. She gets them to apologize to him and hand him back his money.
8/9: Aid appears whenever a member of her team is having a crisis, and Viere is no exception. However, what constitutes as a crisis for Viere is a bit… varied. Currently in this instance, her crisis is not being able to raise enough skeletons to recreate the "Spooky Scary Skeletons" dance. She asks if Aid is okay with dying to help her in this difficult time. Aid politely declines, however, she does promise to allow Viere to resurrect her as a skeleton if she does die. That seemed to cheer Viere up.
10/11: Monah steps into the bathroom, catches one glimpse of a miserable Kelpora, and immediately goes into Mom Mode. She picks up the small Dragonborn, drags her out into the living room, and makes a nest of blankets and pillows for her. She raids the kitchen for Kelpora's favorite snacks, and spends the entire time talking to Kelpora about her own previous meltdowns. Monah eventually changes the subject to telling stories, entertaining Kelpora enough to get her mind off of whatever upset her.

1. Silas: This is so stupid. Ugh… I'm Rune. You will obey me or die. Hurrah I did it.

2. Rune: rolls eyes I am sooo friendly! Or is it really that I'm super needy for affection!

3. Sam: I'm so strong and tough and fun is for weaklings!

4. Octavia: Hey I don't care everyone knows I'm the best at everything! I seduced a vampire once and I can surf wow look at me!

5. Orion: I'm going to be quite and read a book and maybe do math for fun- breaks to laugh I don't know!

6. Nathaniel: Um. I'm so… sexy… and I love to go on adventure?

7. Kym: Hi I'm a total sweetheart that's probably a dog pretending to be a human!

8. Josiah: laughs nervously I'm Daniella. I have so much to do and I'm so confused and why is the world like this!

9. Daniella: Ooh look at me I'm so smart I'm so much smarter that you! I know what dissolves bone marrow and that makes me better that you!

Mary: Ah! Dennis…[dons an innocent, determined face] "Eric! Let go with you! I've been practising super hard!"

Dennis: [furrows his eyebrows] "Stupid. All of you are dumb as pig shit!"

David: Uh, don't speak german sorry lol.

DetLev: [messes up his hair] "FIREEEEEEEEEEEE"

Jay: Nathan? Oh, [burst into tears]

Nathan: [puffs out his chest] "I'm sooo strong!! Please give me kithes 👉👈"

Markus: "My names Zack! I was the captain of the volleyball team and I took them all the way to nationals! Hear my roar!!"

Zackeri: Haha Ko.. "AHHHHHHHHHH"

Kuroko: [ruffles his imaginary hair] "My names Kouji and I'm a pussy! I bail on my best friend because I'm scared to get hurt when he dies"

Kouji: "Nix'! let's keep winnin'!"

Suka: Imagine Tweek from South Park but with a degenerative brain disease, so like "Ack! I'm way past my due date!"

Leonardo: M-mary, huh? Um, I don't really know her. "I'm a ballerina!!" or something, I-i guess..

Eric is crying in the bathroom at some ratty downtown party. Echo walks in. She doesn't know this man. Why is he's crying? He's at least 24, what the fuck is he doing at a frat party. She stares for a while, before slowly backing out of the room. They only ever meet once again, at on of the Para-Volleyball games. They spoke not a word to each other.

Phoenix is crying in the bathroom at a afterparty. Alfie walks in. He gasps, that's Zacks brother!! He kneels down and holds him to his chest. They sit there for about an hour, before Alfie drags him on a late-night trip to the museum. He shares every single fact he knows about marine wildlife. After, he makes sure Phoenix gets home safe and calls Zack, letting him know his baby brother was upset. The next day, Phoenix borrows a bunch of books on marine biology. They're wholesome.

Uno is crying in the bathroom during volleyball practice. Nathan walks in. He's confused, is this like that meme "when the funny kid gets home" ? First, he asks whats wrong. After getting no reply, he sits down next to him. He knows what its like, to feel vulnerable. He sighs and places an awkward hand on his back. Uno eventually confines him, and Nathan uses his problem-solving skills to help him. They fistbump and go back to practice. All is good.

Daneil is crying in the bathroom at a college orientation. Lily-ann walks in. Why his in the woman bathroom? She opens her mouth, then closes in again. She's a neurologist, why is she so confused?? She leaves the bathroom. She's not a cynical asshole, she thinks. She sees Daneil once more, on the TV, at the International Volleyball Championship. She takes solace in knowing he's still alive.

Kichiro is crying in the bathroom at a Denny's. Psy walks in. He's a massive empath, so the first thing he does is comfort him. Kichiro trys to play it off, attempts to stand, but collapse because his stupid lanky ass didn't flow enough blood to his brain. He composes himself, smiles at Psy, and leaves. They meet again at the aforementioned after party, and both talk openly about the experience. No hurt feeling, they exchange numbers and keep it touch.

Kouji is crying in the bathroom after losing Nationals. Robin walks in. There is definitely tension in the air. Robin had gone in there to cry. He immediately leaves to find a different bathroom. They never speak of the incident again.

Verrier (demon leader and her father) as Vanth (void mage kuudere):
"I… uh… alright I'll do it."
sits down on the floor, puts his hair up and a very emotionless face on and does a "nyaa~" pose (Vanth: "What is he doing?" confused)

Vanth as Aesma (brother and second demon leader with a bad temper):
creates a blade into her hand, stretches her arms out to the sides and tries to laugh like a maniac, but does so in a very monotonous way without any fitting facial expression (Aesma: "Of all the things I did, that's what left the most expression on you? Also, scary D:")

Aesma as Ea akan'eran (fire elementarian primal beast):
sets himself on fire and stomps through Verriers vegetable garden while roaring something unintelligible, until he picks up a cucumber and sits down to eat it in one piece (Verrier: "Not my garden D:" // Ea: nods in approval of her impersonation "Very impressive, indeed." claps her hands)

Ea akan'eran as Freya (regretful woman that started a new life):
drapes a bedsheet around herself as a robe, puts twigs with leaves in her hair as decoration and walks around everyone like a teacher teaching students "Remember my disciples, to get a rich harvest from the spaghetti trees, you have to water them regularly and sing to them at night. Otherwise they won't taste good at all. And that makes me sad. Because I like their fruits together with squished tomato fruits in a cauldron." dead serious (Freya: "Well, she is trying :I")

Freya as Akira (grumpy government defector):
"Excuse my manner of expression, for I do not normally speak like this."
clears her throat and throws down a glass bottle in front of Takeru and Amaya, shattering it
"For the sake of the fucks, can you two shut the hell up for a second?! I can barely hear my own thoughts over your constant chatter. And you." points at Vanth "Stop constantly getting left behind." goes quiet for a few seconds and then speaks to Takeru all tsundere-like while having her back turned to him …also, make some food, you know I can't cook for this life of mine." (Takeru and Amaya: stifled laughter // Akira: Very funny you hag -_-")

Akira as Dantalion (lightning-magic demoness who likes to dance):
"Alright, alright… let me think."
puts a dark blanket over his head, holds an Aesma-plushie and lazily spins around once (Takeru: "Now that was lame. Boo!" // Dantalion: "You clearly need dancing lessons.")

Dantalion as Yasu (captured sniper unit of the government):
pretends to hold a gun and aims it at the others while wearing a wooden mask
"I don't really know much about him, except for him being an enemy soldier. I think he was captured? What is he like?"

Yasu as Haiael (indecent and lazy, but cunning demon):
attempts to beckon towards elf guard I didn't give a name yet in an alluring way
"I can help you, but you must do me. A. Special. Favor. First…~" struggles to convey the same carefree and indecent attitude as Haiael and ends up hiding his face behind his hands "Can we stop this? …it's embarassing and a waste of time. Just put me back in my cell." (Unnamed elf guard: "Yes, I will take you… to your cell. Back to your cell, yes, right." // Yasu: "What?" // Elf guard: "What? :I")

Haiael as Amaya (human tomboy resistance member):
takes on a battle-ready pose
"Let's kick some ass …for what's right and just! :D"
sits back down "That was exhausting."

Amaya as Erude (delirious creator entity):
tries to act to the best of her abilities and holds her head like she has a headache
"Silence! All of you! No more! It hurts! Just be quiet! Everything… will end here!" (Verrier: "Are… are you okay?" // Takeru: "I think she played to many RPGs. Other than that she's alright.")

Erude as Takeru (nonchalant half-elementary):
tries to take over Takerus body but fails to do so
"I can't. Why can't I?!" pushes Takeru back and quickly retreats into the citys ruins (Takeru: "…who invited them to this?")

Takeru as Verrier (demon leader):
"So many responsibilities. Why can't I just lay down somewhere in the nice and warm sun? If it wasn't for my lovely family I would've already gotten so many grey hairs! D:" takes Vanth in his arms like a huge plush toy and puts his chin on her head "Ahh, much better…" (Dantalion: "That's partly quite accurate actually." // Vanth: "I am not cold…")
