@Shadow_Knight group
Yes the group and you should read it. It's about a child criminal mastermind that kidnaps a faerie and makes the faerie race pay to get them back.

Must be an important faerie. Maybe after I finish Warriors, I'm so behind on the series. lol
Anyway that seems like they would be a neat villain group. I have different people for three different arcs. First part of my story it's Aaron, Corru, and a few side characters. Second part Corru's actually leading the protagonists and they go against Oridone, Aaron, and Jack. Then the last one I'm thinking more of a game format where it turns the ending around to show the player or viewer to be the villain, that's the true villain. I reference to them as Player_"Name" and honestly I have a problem with making endings bittersweet. First part the conflicts only stop because a trio gives up their freedom to interact with the world, second the timelines collapse because the "villains" are linked to the world staying stable, last one it shows the viewer to be cruel by keeping the characters in a loop when they try to get different endings when the only way to stop it is to leave them alone with their troubles. Because the honestly the only ending that stuck out to me was one where there was no choice but at the same time tons of interpretations… I overthink things like this too much.
I have a question! Who is your group is not who they say they are? I love plot twists, if they’re done right, where a hero isn’t all goody two-shoes or even is shown to be the villain.
Ummmm plot twists. I don't have many yet except Nykidia is usually super happy jumpy and manipulative but she is very worried about everyone's well being and thinks she doesn't deserve happiness. Nykidia tends to go into periods or fits of insanity (Laughing insanely and she can't stop but is not violent. I did this because this is something I do myself.) or sadness (Also something I do.) Other than that the mob is actually pretty good for a mob. Everyone is allowed to not do something if it is against there religion or beliefs. Nobody has to do anything they don't want to do and you only join this mob if you want or have to because of debt. They have an alliance with a cult that call them self 'Shadows servants' they believe that any supernatural is a piece of a god in some way. There are many different races each cult worships but the one that they have a deal with worships Shade's. They like to call Night 'Mistress' and Nykidia 'Little puppet' because they think Nykidia is like a vessel for there god/goddess.
I feel like a couple of my characters would get annoyed by that cult honestly. XD Also do you mean she's being manipulative when she's all happy or just when she feels the need to be? Also what are some common reactions to these periods of emotions?
She is manipulative to people who have just met her. It's a way for her to assert dominance because Nykidia is not much taller than 5'2 and is a girl. Most people don't take her very serious at first. For people who have known Nykidia for a long time tend to see these fits and know she just needs something to calm her down. With the laughing fits you can't do much to stop it so they just let her get it out. People who have just met Nykidia or haven't seen one of these fits before tend to get a little scared. Imagine you minding you own business, talking to Flyn when all the suddenly the girl behind him started laughing hysterically and drops to the floor still laughing. It's a little terrifying (I get most of the reactions from my friends who I asked them about how they feel when I do these.) For sad ones mostly all Nykidia needs is Night or Flyn to talk to her for a bit or something and then she gets better.
Wait, does that mean she's being manipulative to Aaron? Because if so it's working. Aaron was originally very trusting and kind before he turned, and that's still somewhat true if he comes across someone who doesn't really care how he acts or reacts to things. Really he just needs someone to be nice to him and not really care about what he does, because once you have his trust he let's people slip by with stuff he'd usually be upset about. Also I feel like the emotions and laughing thing is an interesting thing to add to a character, though you said you have it to and a hope it isn't to much of a problem to deal with. I'm trying to not say anything you might take personal when I'm talking about the character and not you, don't know if I'm messing up or not.
No she doesn't feel the need to. Aaron is already scared/wary about her. She feels the best when the person she is talking or working with is uncomfortable with her. People tend to follow directions the best when afraid. But she tends to warm up to people fast.
Oof. That's because Aaron isn't used to meeting people and them being all cheerful. Like I mentioned earlier he was sort of dead at one point and there was a reason for that, he wasn't very well liked for some things he did and his new plan doesn't make him very well liked now either. Though wary most of the time he tends to come to trust those that don't really threaten him or are nice in some way. Like he trusts Corru because he helped him and promised Aaron a chance to fix some things.
Nice. I always like characters in debt to another character.
Yeah. Corru isn't as nice though. Until he's redeemed at the end for the second arc of characters he's very much upset and angry with the protagonists as well as Aaron himself. His plan is basically get rid of them by promising Aaron a chance to fix some mistakes he made only turn on Aaron as well so he can go through with his real plans. His redemption comes from seeing why some decisions were made and leaving the past behind.
Dang that was not the way I wanted it to go. Nice plot twist.
Thanks! :D What plot twists or secrets are in your story? I love exposing origin stories so I tend to have a lot. lol
Uuuummmm… I think I may of listed them all but let me think. Nykidia self harms, Flyn is Gay, Night has separation issues. Um other than that I may of listed them all. For now.
Those are good twists, especially when you don't expect it with Nykidia coming off as energetic and such. I tend to put a lot of twists in my stories because I love it when suddenly everything clicks into place and you go back wondering how you didn't guess it. I think my very first twist is when Corru meets Oridone and calls her an old friend in his voice that always sounds a bit mocking. Then I have others like Petal and his troops, Iden destroying himself with ghost fire to get rid of Almix, the crazy mask shop guy making Rayden an antagonist, Ruth having Ben kill Amok, Firo finding out the king covered up the death of his father to win a war, and other secrets that are exposed… Yeah, I like secrets… And plot twists…. And origin stories…
Holy crow. Those ARE good.
I've been working on this one project for 2-3 years. So I have a cast of characters that have had a long time to be developed, though I think the only ones who were never pushed to off to be side characters are Oridone, Riveal, and Ben. Everyone else was made to fit the story instead of the other way around.
Most of the themes are about a character losing something or facing something from their past. A while ago I mixed a creator vs creator plot twist plot into the mix and started calling the project Damaged Designs, in which timelines have to be merged damaging those in them as their experiences are mixed and matched to make them who they are now.
Wow! I have only been working on my characters for around 1 year.
You have so many characters and they seem so deep with so many plot twist, secrets and backstories.
Oof, that's because I've had a lot of time and love to devote to the story and characters now. You're doing better than I was my first year. I didn't even know the term world building and my art was bad, the world was basically a knock-off of games I was playing at the moment as well before I really got into story telling.
I don't have any art. I can't draw worth crap but I may have a friend that will do some for me soon.
My sibling thought they couldn't either, but they're trying and getting better slowly but surely. It's cool that you have friends that are willing to draw art. Having something to see, even if just one drawing, can really make it feel like a world had come to life while you're piecing the plot together. I actually drew the creators of my world once for a competition and avoided awkward conversations about world building by talking about the fact they're kitsune instead. XD
Ha! I just don't draw. Writing was always my thing and art was always hers. She drew Nykidia and Night once but this was back when I had them in the modern time and Flyn wasn't around. She is one of the first people I tell my characters about and she usually immediately wants to draw them. She's been wanting to draw Flyn for awhile but has been busy with art class.
I don't have art this year because I decided to pick all the hard electives for some reason. ;-; Anyways it's cool that she wants to draw the characters. Occasionally my friends and I will do an art trade but other than that we just show each other characters and discuss worlds. Like my friend has a kingdom in my world that trades with Caran and we make inside jokes all the time because half the stuff in hers was originally based off memes, meanwhile another has a crew of characters that have both serious stories and goofy adventures.
