forum How do I write a kid with a crush on someone way out of their age range?

One of the protagonists in my story is an orphaned kid who is around 10 years old who has a die-hard crush on another protagonist who is 18. Obviously the older one of the two is not too keen on letting the crush persist, as she thinks it'll only hurt the kid in the long run if he keeps on chasing after a relationship that won't be possible for years to come. I never really had a crush like this as a kid so I don't have much experience on how kids act when they're like this to draw from.

Well this has happened to me before (I've been on both ends XD), and the kid will probably try to act older than they actually are. And they'll also be really obvious about it even though they try to act all cool.

The kid could get a bit obsessed, but I think that's for if you want some drama or something slightly-comedic.
