Ytzar would probably save their father. They didn’t really know either of their parents that much, so in all honesty the situation would be more like “who are these people, and why are they being held gunpoint?” But at least they knew their father a bit more.
Tachyn doesn’t have parents. He’s a parasite, taking on the form of a humanoid.
Nevihata would save his mother. His father is a huge jerk, and his mother is not. (Even if he doesn’t really meet either of them until his adulthood; he only met them briefly as a child.)

OG Oliver is a lot more similar to Marcus, Jon's uncle and the dad of the group, than the serious grumpy dork Oliver now.

I think I told you but my protag for Distincts used to be a boy in a exercise I did.
Penny would save her father because she has missed him since he went to war, and she doesn't want to lose him forever.
Olivia would pick her mother because her father works so much that she doesn't know him too well.
Jacob would have a hard time deciding because both of his parents are pretty flawed people, but he would probably settle on his dad.
Rayne would save her father because she never really knew her mother.
Finn would save his father because he had a closer relationship with him than with his mom.
Suyin would save her mother because her father was kind of an asshole.
Caolan would let both of his parents die in a heartbeat, and does. He would save his brother Madigan for sure if that came up.
Emera would save … her mother. Just a feeling I got. Emera's backstory is really nebulous.
Charlie would save his mother as well, but if it was Lacey he'd save her for sure.
Oliver doesn't know any of his family members. If he had to choose between having a mother or father, he would probably choose a mother because the fatherly figures in his life have all betrayed him

Caolan, Emera, and Enrique would definitely work. Caolan because he likes very few people, and loves his work, Emera because she's dedicated and Needs To Write Her Next Speech, and Enrique because he's the fricking ruler.
Ytzar would probably not work, since their work can basically wait under most circumstances.

My character Tatsuo would stay to do his work, 100%. He's not leaving Hinata alone, no way, no how. Same with Katsuo. Kagami… yeah, she would leave in heartbeat.
