Ignoring Thirteen, Maddie turned to Tolkalee. "I'm sorry, but did you specifically request for someone or something to burn down your house? Eek, sorry again, but that's kind of what it sounded like you were saying…" she trailed off, but her voice was a bit stronger than before, and more and more of her real personality, her personality when she wasn't terrified and running for her life was coming through.
"No, someone burned my house down without my consent. And all I had been doing was writing. This was suppose to be my week off, and instead I have someone trying to kill me. Such is my life," Tolkalee sighed and shook his head.
"…you sound as if someone burning down your house is normal for you," Maddie noted, looking at Tolkalee with a curious look on her face.
"I unfortunately live a life where everyone either hates my guts, needs my help saving the world, or wants me dead," Tolkalee sighed. "So yeah, it is a normal thing for me."
"Sounds relaxing." Thirteen said in a voice that made it either judgemental or sarcastic but it was hard to tell which.
"Super," Tolkalee nodded. "You, yourself don't seem like you have a very relaxing life either."
Thirteen gave a small laugh and nodded. "Definitely don't." He looked around and stood shakily. He pushed himself onto one of the tables at the back and leaned against the wall.
"I do enjoy coming to these pocket dimensions, because I get the chance to meet so many interesting and special people," Tolkalee smiled looking around.
"One can choose to visit a pocket dimension?" Maddie piped up, after having fallen silent after a bit. Then, under her breath so no-one could hear, "It's not like I wanted to come here, but… I think I'm more comfortable out there then here." She had never liked being in strange, unknown places. Being chased, being terrified comforted her in an odd way, and not knowing what came next, being scared of the unknown terrified her more than being chased by an ex-captor.
"You can choose in a sense. For me personally, I only get to choose sometimes, othertimes like this one. I'll fall from the ceiling and land on my face," Tolkalee explained.
"Huh… interesting," but soon after, Maddie fell silent once more, and just watched the others around her.
Tolkalee nodded noticing that she probably didn't want to talk anymore. So he looked back to Evan. "How long have you been here?"
(I totally just let you guys go off, and got busy and forgot about this and to check in on it and now I'm lost AF)
