"Cool, I've never met a siren before," Tonakee cooed. She picked up a stick that was near her, pulled out one of her daggers and began widdling it. "By the way when I said I'm from light years away, I wasn't joking, I would be what's known here as an alien. But really I'm an elf."
"Yep," she replied. "What about you? Are you from a different planet?"
"No," Tempest said. "I'm from the ocean."
"That's so cool, I love the smell of the ocean," Tonakee gasped. "Hey, can you hear it from here?"
Tempest nodded. "I can always hear it, no matter how far away. I draw my strength from it, and the farther from it that I am, the weaker I get."
Tonakee nodded in understanding, then she stood up, sheathing her dagger. "Done," she said holding a little wooden heart. An odd swirl like symbol was etched in the middle of it. She held it out to Tempest smiling. "I like you and want to keep in touch," she explained. "If you ever want to get together or you need help just press your finger on the middle and say please. If I'm not busy I can meet you back here."
Tempest took it, smiling. "Thank you. I'll be sure to get in touch." She gave the woman a quick hug, then said, "I can see if you can come to the sea palace sometime."
"That would be amazing!" Tonakee grinned. "I don't think you'd be able to come to my world though. Seeing as how it is a long way from any ocean."
Tempest sighed. "Oh well." She perked up. "Well, what if I put some ocean water in a bottle and take it with me? That might work."
"If that would work I'd love to show you my world, it's a nice place when it isn't being torn up by war," Tonakee explained. "Oh, if you're ever in danger hold the middle and say help, I'll come as fast as I can," she explained about the heart.
Tempest thanked her. She glanced at her watch and cursed. "Oh, I should probably go. My brother needs me. See you soon!"
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to start heading back soon to," Tonakee sighed. "It was really fun getting to know you though."
Tempest sighed. "You too. See you soon, though! Hopefully."
Tonakee gave her a hug, and pulled back. "I won't see you soon, but hopefully we'll get together soon," she laughed. She often made jokes about herself being blind as a defense mechanism, but this time she was just having fun.
Tempest snorted. "Well then. Bye!" She started to walk away.
Tonakee stayed by the tree, waving. After a bit she sat down sighing happily. It was nice talking with someone different for a change.
Sighing, Tempest walked towards her apartment, cursing her brother.
Tonakee decided to meditate by the tree, stretching her senses so that it was like she was right next to the ocean. The sound was calming, it sounded like little songs were rising from it.
Tempest's phone wrung, and she glanced down at the caller. It was Aquarius. She sighed. "What?" She asked.
It was then that someone called out to her. A cry for help, from her brother. Sighing she stood up, and started walking back towards her world. "Back to work it is," she sighed.
