Thalia looked up as the cloud of smoke passed by. She glanced at the boy, saw his confused expression, and took out her earbuds. "No, it's the Uber Bus. It's magic." She stated, as if it was something completely normal.
Thalia looked up as the cloud of smoke passed by. She glanced at the boy, saw his confused expression, and took out her earbuds. "No, it's the Uber Bus. It's magic." She stated, as if it was something completely normal.
"…Magic? What the fuck is going on?" he exclaims.
Ava heard the mention of magic and looked up. She looked between the two people who mentioned it like they where insane.
"Is this some kind of magic show where they trick some random guy into believing something crazy? Cause if so, I've just ruined your little bit," The teen continues. He waits for an answer from anyone on the bus or anyone outside the bus. Nothing.
Hayden turned around in their spot. “Not exactly Magic where I come from. At least, it is not known by ‘magic’.” And they glanced at the other individual. “Yes, we still go to Fenh’im. Even if it is a risky…jump.”
Ekharin nodded. “I can tell it is, but it is upmost importance that I meet with The Order.”
“Ah.”
Hayden seemed to laugh. “Going back to ‘magic’, this is not a bit, my friend. This is an Interdimensional Uber Bus, driven by yours truly.”
Ava was looking between all of them. She didn’t know what any of this meant. “Inter dimensional?” She asked her voice small and quiet.
"An Uber… Bus? That doesn't make sense. Wouldn't it just be a bus? And what do you mean interdimensional? Ugh… can you just get me to the Lansing Area Library?" he asks. The teen looks around like he's given up and sits down in front of the girl called Ava.
“Business, my friend. The name is different, and it tends to attract customers.”
“Sure thing.” Hayden turned back around, pressing a few more buttons; and there was a different noise instead of the humming of the bus. More of a rougher noise. Almost like an aircraft. It wasn’t overly loud, but definitely different than the previous.
“Ah, don’t know what interdimensional is? Exactly what it sounds like; when you hear interdimensional next to another word; like interdimensional bus, interdimensional world eating creature; it typically refers to their ability to travel in between dimensions, my friend!” Hayden said, rather excitedly. “And if what I said doesn’t make any sense, talk to that fella,” Hayden pointed at Ekharin, “he can clear it a lot better than I can.”
Ekharin stayed silent.
"Yeah, but-" he starts. Then he thinks a bit and shakes his head like shaking out a thought.
"It's not real," he mutters too low for anyone else to hear. After that he simply puts in an earbud puts some music on.
”you can't travel between dimensions. There can't even multiple dimensions. Oh good all this talk sounds straight out of my history books, ” Ava finally snapped Still looking at all of them.
“Yes you can.” Hayden turned back again. “I’ve been doing this for billions of years, I’ve travelled between dimensions and I’ve seen many. Heck,” they tilted their head, “I’ve even been to different time periods.”
”buts that's-“ she cuts herself off. “What year or dimension or whatever are you even from?” She asked.
Hayden tapped their chin. “Mm,” they thought.
“I don’t know what year. Nor do I know my home dimension’s name, though I will say - not this one. It’s a dimension with many creatures; aliens, robots, monsters, or just regular people. Lots of war though. But war is good for business, so that’s good with me.”
”Aliens and monsters?” she asked. These people have to be lying or just outright insane.
“Yes,” they nodded. “Is that truly so hard to believe? I am one myself, and Ekharin is as well - though he is more of an interesting case, since he was formerly a human.”
Ava looked at him not fully processing it. ”I- there's nothing like that in my dimension.”
“Well, every dimension is different, after all.” Hayden looked back to getting the bus prepared.
Ava nodded. She must be dreaming. She should make the best of it before she wakes up.
Thalia listened to Hayden's description of their dimension, then clicked play on her music. She finished her book, stuck it in her bag, and looked out the window.
“This interests me. Tell me more please?”
Cat nodded agreeing with the other girl. She wanted to know everything even though she was pretty sure this was all a dream and she’d wake up any second now.
Thalia took one of her earbuds out and listened. Other dimensions did sound interesting after all.
“Well, what do you want to know more of?” Hayden asks. The engine is almost started up.
The faerie snapped her fingers- coffee appearing in her hand. “Anything. Anything at all.”
"What was your dimension like?" The elf asked, pushing her hair behind her ear.
