Skylar looked at the door, and smiled at the woman who was looking back at her. "Hello," she said waving, "Come on in."
Skylar looked at the door, and smiled at the woman who was looking back at her. "Hello," she said waving, "Come on in."
Victoria’s eyes roved over the couples sitting comfortably in the couches and chairs. She had to do a double take when she saw the draconian figures, but they oddly gave her the most comfort. She didn’t think witch hunters keep people with tails and horns around. But then again, assuming these people were witch hunters was probably silly in the first place.
She stepped inside, shaking off her doubts. “Hello. I’m Victoria.”
Mutaro and Nidatri had taken to the side of the room. Most likely Lady Nidatri preferring a comfortable space between her and the strangers. Her draconic nature demanding it so, to keep distance, just incase.
As for her mate, Lord Mutaro, he stood nearby. His tail swayed slowly one way, then the other. It was a nice, and quiet meeting, as he was hoping. The male also considered it a nice break to not constantly have to voice his thoughts to these individuals, as he was often doing so most days.
The newcomer entered, causing both the dragons to lift their heads. The woman tilted her head for a moment, observing the female who had entered, then simply moved her gaze back to a window, green eyes looking outside.
Mutaro's forked tongue slipped past his lips, testing the air. As the new woman entered, he gave a slight bow of his head to her, letting her know that they acknowledged her presence. Hm, she introduced herself as 'Victoria'. Good to know.
"Oh, hi, nice to meet you." Aura stands up, followed by Eli, "I'm Aura Coulson, he is my husband, Eli." She offers a handshake to Victoria while giving a warm smile.
Victoria nodded back to Mutaro, then turned to Aura, taking the handshake. “Nice to meet you too. Do you happen to know where we are?” She felt a little silly asking the question.
"Not really, but I know it's safe!" She said, " We are… sort of experts, on… reading places, let's call it reading." Explained Eli, who also offered a handshake.
“Reading?” That sounded like enhanced perception to Victoria. An ability only witches could possess. She took Eli’s hand as well, saying, “Good to know it’s safe.” She smiled.
Mutaro remained standing, though paused as he felt a hand lightly pass along his own. The tall male turned his head, Nidatri ushering him closer. He knelt down beside her, allowing her to speak softly in his hear, giving a nod as she finished.
The male stood up, carefully helping his mate to her feet afterwards. He stepped to the side, tail swaying behind him in a sweep. His eyes had changed to a mixture of the blue and green, pupils remaining round, calm. He seemed to direct the woman towards the door which they entered
"This visit has been pleasant, but I must be off. I grow restless, and need to return to my little ones."
She suddenly turned to face Mutaro, "I expect you to be home tonight yes?"
Mutaro blinked a bit, "Um…of course, why wouldn't I be home tonight."
The woman suddenly crossed her arms in front of her chest. A look crossed with annoyance and disappointment, "Last time you came home the next day, hungover. Our eldest son had to go find and get you from 'The Dancing Nanny Goat' Tavern up in Dornwich. I would prefer not a repeat of that incident."
A sheepish grin crossed his features, reaching a hand back to rub the back of his head, "Aw c'mon hun, give me a break about that. Besides, I had a day off, and Strun'druniik was buying drinks at the time."
Nidatri's eyes narrowed, pupils thin slits, "And he also got in trouble that night, trouble which could've been you instead."
"Alright, alright. I get it," the male sight softly, exhaling a cloud of smoke past his lips, "I'll be home tonight, it'll be late, but I promise."
The glare she gave her mate probably would've made any man squirm, but Mutaro kept his cool. He instead remained standing in a rather embarrassed stance, hand remaining behind his head. Though, his tail curled up between his legs, a clear indication he was uncomfortable.
After several moments, the woman did turn, leaving them behind.
Once outside, the sound of beating wings following by a 'whoosh' of air echoed. A great shadow descended over the area for a moment, causing the windows to flash to darkness, before light once again poured inside.
Once she had gone, the male chuckled again, shaking his head, muttering, "Heh…she's never gonna let me forget that."
"Well, reading may be a misleading term," Eli closes his eyes and scratches his neck, "We are psychics, at least among the psychic branch, while we specialize on different things…"
"A mind reader and a medium." Aura adds.
"We can still read a place, in a way." Eli explains.
Skylar glanced at Matthew and he shrugged. Magic, but what could they do about that? "I'm Skylar." she said, "This is Matthew."
Victoria waved to Skylar and Matthew, then turned to the Coulsons, and eyebrow raised. “Oh, I see. So you’re witches?” She finally dared to ask the question.
"No, not even close." Aura moves her head side to side yet keeps a friendly smile while doing so, "I suppose witches can do the same as us, anyways." Eli adds as a response
Aura turns to look at Mutaro, "Oh, she's gone, well it seems like I'm not the only one." She laughs as she turns to look at Eli, "Seriously, my dear, I wasn't that drunk."
She laughs once more, "You couldn't even walk!"
Victoria tilted her head, confused. “But you must be…” she shook her head. The existence of Motaru and Nidatri seemed to be proof that such things as being psychic, but not a witch, could exist as well.
“Well, I’m a witch, so I thought…”
"Oh, don't worry about it," says Aura, "It's easy to get confused." She shrugs it off.
"Not sure if we can explain our habillities with magic but if it is of any help, I've been told my mother did dwelve on magic at some point, just fae stuff." Eli adds, Aura looks at him and speaks, "I think some of my foster parents were involved into magic at some point."
“O-oh wow, really?” Victoria said, a little surprised. She had to fully register the word ‘fae’ for moment, but her respect for the Coulsons and their parents grew. She was a rule follower, so the idea of someone doing something so illegal… “How so? If I may ask.”
"I don't remember much, she passed when I was little, but I have a few memories of her turning on the stove or lighting candles with nothing but her fingers, same for the chimeney," he sighs, "I heard some things on gaelic, I'm fluent on it though I'm afraid she used one dialect I'm not familiar with, probably munster."
"I never fully knew what was going on, I went through lots of foster families while young," Aura explains, "I met a few witches, though I never asked anything, I also worked with a few before."
Mutaro chuckled softly, "Yea…not one of the fondest memories I have."
His hand moved, returning to his side as he looked over to them.
"Happened about a year ago, and normally I don't drink that heavy, plus being a dragon, takes quite a bit to get one of us that tipsy."
The male's tail had uncurled from its place between his legs. He once again relaxed again as his mate had left. His gaze shifted to the woman who seemed rather curious, a witch?
Ah, forgive me Miss Victoria, I never introduced myself, name's Mutaro."
Matthew looked incredibly uncomfortable, sitting on the edge of his seat, watching them all intently. Aura said this place was safe, he didn't feel safe, "We're not… magical." he said at last looking at Victoria.
“Woah,” Victoria eyes were as big as saucers. “I lived in a witch town for a few months now, but meeting people who grew up around magic and witches is still kind of amazing to me.” She chuckled.
She jerked her head to see the draconic male, and smiled nervously. “Oh, nice to meet you, Mutaro.”
There was a small pause before Matthew had said his piece, at which Victoria responded, “Oh, cool. Consider yourselves lucky, haha.”
"I wouldn't say that we grew fully surrounded by magic, but I suppose you have a point." Eli says.
A soft smile graced his features. His gaze shifted towards the table that held what was called 'coffee'. The male tilted his head, forked tongue flicking out, testing the air. The liquid carried a slight familiar scent to him, but there was also something unfamiliar about it. He was curious about trying it, though shifted back to look at the ones before him.
"Depends on what you consider magic as well I'm sure."
"Witch town?" Skylar glanced at Matthew uneasily, he picked up her hand and held it.
“Ah, yes,” Victoria responded to Eli and Mutaro. Not wanting to make Skylar or Matthew uncomfortable, she decided to change the subject. Remembering something Mutaro’s mate said earlier, she said, clearing her throat a little, “Um, did you say you have little ones? I have a little one too.”
His gaze shifted to Victoria as she had addressed him. Mutaro's tail swept to the side, his arms coming to cross in front of his chest.
"Indeed we do."
One of his arms moved, coming to rest a hand under his chin, "This would be our second clutch. Three chicks, all only about 3 years old."
"Then our eldest son, who is 97 years old now. Though for a dragon, he is still quite young."
