Nori: a concerned look grows on his face. what is it? Did I say something?

Valerie: No, it's not anything you said, I'm just tired. We've been nearly nonstop moving. Her stomach growls And we haven't eaten in a bit.

Nori: nods, but still can’t keep thinking he did something wrong. yeah. Let’s go get something to eat

Valerie: She lands, since they'd been flying over a tiny village Here, there's probably a diner or something.

Nori: lands, staying silent, only answering short responses okay. Sounds good.

Valerie: Notices somethings off now Hey, you did nothing wrong. She pokes him You listening to me? Hellooooo?

Nori: shrugs her off, grinning slightly. alright, alright. he sighs, looking around. where should we go?

Valerie: I don't know, I've never been here before. She looks around Maybe… She spots a diner looking place Ooh! There! Let's go there!

Nori: grins and follows, looking over his shoulder a few times.

Valerie: Upon entering, she realizes she hadn't seen anyone on the streets, despite it being day and about lunchtime. I'm starting to suspect something wrong here…

Nori: draws his sword, glancing around nervously yeah… me too.

Valerie: Decides to explore a house nearby, finding it nearly perfectly preserved, the food that the family maust have been eating when something happened still out; she draws her longsword and grabs a ball of sunlight from outside, using it to illuminate the darker areas of the house Where did everyone go…?

Nori: *Keeps his guard up, looking around as they enter the house. He stands in the doorway, looking out for any kind of danger." They must have left in a hurry.

Valerie: Sighs and turns Yes, Captain Obvious. But the question is, why?

Nori: rolls his eyes I dunno, sherlock. I thought you knew.

Valerie: Grins at the Sherlock endearment Why on earth would I know? She finds the bedrooms

Nori: follows, glancing at Val when she enters the Bedrooms. He raises his eyebrows and smirks. Okay, I see how it is. He quips, miming taking off his armor.

Valerie: Sighs and accidentally grabs a ball of… something. Darkness? She doesn't know. She tosses it at Nori anyways.

Nori: leans to the side, trying to avoid it. Why can't you take a joke?? He complains, doing a quick check around the room

Valerie: It's not that I can't take a joke, it's that you don't know how to make a joke. She pauses Wait… what did I just throw?

Nori: rolls his eyes, then looks behind him. I-I don’t know. It was creepy though. It definitely wasn’t the light you usually throw at me

Valerie: Looks mortified as she sees something come from the area the thing had landed. She brightens her light, and sees two more of the things in the room. Nori. Don't. Move. An inch. She subtly forms a throwing knife out of her blood, then, quickly tosses it at the thing. It screeches, and goes directly for Val. She jumps, then, using her longsword, decapitates it. She lands, wincing slightly. The other two things don't awaken.

Nori: stands completely still, trying to calm his breathing. He watches in horror as the thing leaps at Val, and draws his sword, then sighs in relief as it falls to the ground, unmoving. What the hell was that??!

Valerie: Weary, she puts a hand on her side and leans against a wall, not too sure she wants to know I- I don't know. Her words fade into murmurs It looked like- no, it couldn't be… we killed them… but then, why was one…

Nori: approaches Val, putting a hand on her shoulder. Valerie, what the hell was that thing. He asks, keeping his tone calm and deliberate.
